Will the bike push start? if it does, then you may either have a weak battery which should read sitting at 'least' 12.4v ...12.6-12.7v is preferred.. 13v is perfect.If the bike doesn't push start, then i would look into the fuel delivery system..make sure fuel selector is working..try "reserve" position, maybe then replace or clean fuel filter...or it could be the injectors aren't receiving
the proper signal, does your bike show any FI faults? If it does then you'll have to take it to the shop and run a diagnostics on it. i"ll assume that it doesn't have a fault and that it will push start, but probably doesnt run properly.
Then go to Autozone and purchase a can of Sea Foam and pour 1/3 of can into 2 gallons fuel, push start it, and ride it around for about 10 to 15 miles and get on it once in awhile if you can, to get the stuff to clean out the fuel system. hope this helps you if it does can you rate my answer thanks!

Hi, Denroy start with # 11 otherwise the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel tank empty.
2. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off.
3. Fouled spark plugs.
4. Engine flooded as a result of overuse of the enricher.
5. Vacuum hose to the fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched.
6. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
7. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
8. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil, battery or plug between ignition sensor and module.
9. Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
10. Ignition timing incorrect due to a faulty ignition coil, ignition module or sensors (MAP, CMP, CKP, O2 and/or BAS).
11. Faulty fuel pump fuse or relay.
11. Security alarm needs a reset.

Do not want to start

Engines need 3 conditions to run; fuel, spark, and..... compression. Please check the compression... with a compression gauge. If it is less than 100 psi, squirt two ounces of oil into the cylinder, leave the spark plug out and turn the engine over for 2-3 seconds with the starter to distribute the oil. With the gauge, check the compression again. If the compression went up, the rings are bad, if it didn't, check the valve clearances.

2000Elantra has fuel,air,spark and 2 cylinders have50#s compression &2 have over100#s compression~ A.- the motor out of timing.or B.-the motor has issue with the valve train.or C. 2 bad cylinders. How...

All four cylinders should have over 100 #'s of pressure-ideally over 150#'s-and they should be even or close to even.
You could take off the timing belt cover and check the timing, but it sounds like 2 bad cylinders-which could be a valve train problem.

2005 mercury mariner 4 cyl. starts then stalls, won't restart for prolonged rest period

did you use fuel addetive to stop fuel in carbs going off when you laid it up and winterize the cylinders etc ? check compressions , sparks and fuel is in all carbs as if you have sparks then carbs need stripping and cleaning ie, jets and float needles ! compressions to be no less than 100 psi on all 4 cyls !

2005 Honda CBR 600 RR misses and surges

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a cursory reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
2. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
3. Spark plugs in bad condition or partially fouled.
4. Spark plug cables in bad condition and leaking check for spark leakage in the dark
5. Spark plug gap too close or too wide.
6. Faulty ignition coil, module, and or sensor.
7. Loose, dirty, or corroded ignition module connector at crankcase.
8. Faulty CKP or CMP, MAP, ETS, ATS, TPS, O2 sensor.
9. Dirty air filter.
10. Intake air leak.
11. Water, dirt, or rust in the fuel system.
12. Carburetor damaged, contaminated, sticky float, plugged jets.
13. Multiple carburetors out of sync.
14. Fuel filter clogged.
15. Old or contaminated fuel.
16. Fuel tank vent system plugged or carb vent line closed off.
17. Gas cap diaphragm valve faulty.
18. Vacuum line from intake manifold to fuel valve is broken, cracked, pinched, or missing.
19. Carburetor controls misadjusted.
20. Incorrect valve timing.
21. Valve springs floating, weak, or broken.
22. Damaged intake or exhaust valve.
23. Incompatible performance parts.
24. Control module may be in "LIMP" mode
25. Check for engine trouble codes.

My 2004 chevy malibu classic 4 cyl wont start its

There are four things required for an engine to run: air, fuel, compression and properly timed spark. If you have fuel and timed spark, the only two variables are air and compression. Air is not the likely problem, and compression should be good unless you blew a head gasket or the rings in all four cylinders. How did you determine that you have fuel and spark? Those are the two most likely problem areas.

I have a 2005 yamaha iog 50cc scooter it has a spark & fuel but will not start any ideas?

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, a couple of checks:
  • is there sufficient compression - compression test;
  • is there suction - cover the carb in port with the palm of your hand, when starting, it should be wet with fuel;
  • determine if fuel is reaching the sparkplug / combustion chamber;
  • condition of the intake reeds;
  • excess 2T oil in the crankcase - clean, air dry.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.
