Hi,it sounds like you have a stuck float valve, give the carb bowl a good healthy tap with the handle of a screwdriver,it may loosen it up and problem solved, however if it doesnt then you will have to remove the carb and free the float bowl up,.floats sticking can be caused by fuel left in the bowls over a long period(winter),when the fuel evaporates it leaves behind a white gummy looking compound that can create all sorts of havoc in a carb...cheers

I have a 1994 Intruder. It only starts and runs

The hot side is running way too lean. Have your carbs synchronized may help. Try draining the bowls. Good luck.

If you use a High octane gas, this may happen on the VL1500, You should only use regular Gas, and you will see a difference.

My suzuki intruder is missing backfiring on the

Did you sync the two carbs? If not the rear may be getting all the gas from the rear carb and none to the front. Twist throttle engine off and see if front carb cable is pulling the carb open.
Also unscrew the spark plug boot from the front spark plug wire and trim 1/8th inch off the wire and screw the boot back in. The plug wire end may be corroded on that wire.
