We both cylinders firing before plug change? If they were, put a couple more brand new plugs in the engine. You must have a "bad" brand new plug, not uncommon these days of Chinese imports.

if you have spark at the plug on #2 then check the injector for voltage and ground you may have a bad injector or plugged or dirty injector. it could also be a vacuum leak at the intake were it meets the head at cyl#2.

Firing on one Cylinder

Burned out valve/ the new plug is faulty*/ cylinderhead gasket leaking/ faulty HT lead or plug cap/ weak or failed ignition coil.

If the rings on both cylinders are as you describe, this will not be the problem.

*a plug giving a spark does not necessarily mean it will give a spark in the cylinder.. Test by swapping the plugs over.

Code reader says it is miss firing on all cylinders and is not starting up

This could mean that you have a bad/fouled plug or plugs, bad plug wires, bad coil packs, a misbehaving fuel injector, or a scad of other things.

I'd try new plugs and wires first. It's the cheapest fix and maybe the most likely answer.

I wonder though. It seems that I've seen codes that tell you exactly which cylinders
are not firing correctly. Your code seems to indicate more than one cylinder. That still points
to the things I mentioned above, but also strengthens the coil pack theory, as they feed more than one plug.

2003 sportster 1200 100 aniv. Only fires on one cylinder. Dont know what to do. The wire going to plug looked like it was pinched and arching so i unplugged it and put different one on ( not exact same but...

If your plug wire is arching, it's telling two things. One, it's got break in the insulation and two the plug resistance is too high. Try a new set of spark plugs. Buy a set of standard Autolite plugs if you can get them. Don't buy the high dollar plugs. Autolite 4164. Try that. If this doesn't work, check the compression on the cylinders. Should be 100 psi or better. If the compression looks good, the ignition system is questionable.

Good luck
