Many things can cause this ,if you change your seating postion ( lean forward / move backwards does it go away?....

front forks loose at triple tree,
new front / rear tire more aggressive tread than before,
front wheel loose,
worn head bearings,
bent rim,
loose spokes if any,
wrong tire pressures,
loose handle bars
,some new addition to change the handling of the bike , rear seat rest etc,

My soft tail rides really stiff on rough roads. What can I do to soften the ride. Seems like the front forks are stiff. Just had shocks serviced.

As far as the rear suspension, a softtail won't ride a smooth as one with a swingarm, as the softtail has less travel.

On the front end, Harley has three different "thicknesses" of fork oil, light, medium, and heavy, which gives different suspension dampening.

If the front forks are too stiff, you could try a lighter fork oil.

Vibration At 3000 RPM

If it is a rubber mount engine, try running thru the motor mount adjustment. You WILL need a manual for this. If it's a solid mount engine look for loose bolts and nuts, and not just on the engine. Parts still shake loose on Harleys, even a 2003.

Vibration in handlebars/forks??

Hi,
Front end vibration can be caused by front rim/tire out of balance, worn wheel bearing(s), bent front rim, or fork misalignment.
Since you recently had fork work done, I would first check the forks for proper alignment, then have the bike on a stand and spin the wheel to see if there is wobbling. To check for bearing wear, while the front is off the ground, try to rock the wheel from side to side. If you can feel or see movement, you will need new bearings.
Hope this helps
