The only thing that I can remember specifically to the 96 model was the fuel petcock. That year, Harley went to a vacuum operated petcock and it was notorious for failure. It would leave riders starnded with a full tank of fuel but not drop in the carb. I suggested that they go to a pre-96 manual petcock or a high qualtiy aftermarket unit such as the Pingel. Other than that one item, the 96's had the same strengths and weaknesses as any other Evolution powered bike.

Personally, I think the Evo engine is the best engine Harley ever designed. I own panheads, shovelheads, and Evos. The Evos win hands down for durability, reliability, and ease of doing high performance work on. I've always thought that the Twin Cam engine ran too hot for my likings.
Good Luck with your bike, Steve

Have a 1996 road king hooked up a quik disconect windsheild and stereo pod with two speakers what's the best way to hook up stereo straite to battery with fuse or I found a hot wire and a ground behind...

If you use a hot wire and a fuse blows it may affect other components like horn and turn signals are on the orange wire with white tracer. If you are ok with that than that should work just rember it is only 15A fuse I would run new wires.

My big thanks to steve for replying my bike is a 1996 flhri road king that has a gas leak behind the horn coming from a part called a redistrubition module and tell me that if they cant fix it with another...

Oh man, now I know why I stayed away from any electronic fuel injected bike. I don't know a lot about the fuel injected bike for this reason. I'm an old school biker and I specialize in 2000 and earlier non-injected bikes. I like carburetors and get along pretty well with them.

As for your problem, this redistribution block must be an integral part of another part. I cannot imagine why it would cost that much unless the Euro has lost it's value against the dollar and I highly doubt that. I'm sorry that I can't tell you more but here's my e-mail address wd4ity at Drop me a line and let me do some checking around here and see what I can do. Steve

2005 road king. where is the coil located?

I'm not sure where it's located on this late model but if you follow your spark plug wires from the spark plug up to the other end, you should find the coil. Most of the earlier RK have the coil on left side of the bike behind the horn. The horn is located on the left side between the "V" of the cylinders.

2002 road king horn wiring were due both leads connect to

I am assuming you mean what are the color of the wires that go to the horn. If so, the yellow/black is positive when the horn button is depressed and the black is ground. The wiring for the horn button is orange/white positive and yellow/black to horn. The orange/white wire gets 12vdc from the acc fuse.

2006 FLHRI Road King

Make sure you're using the correct weght for the oil for your area where you ride..the wrong oil can make your scooter run hot, so can being out of time..even by a few degrees.

When you check your oil is the bike warm or cold, and is it leaning or do you stand it upright?
