the carb has been cleaned all airways are clear and a new pilot jet fitted float level has been checked and is correct. Air inlet to the fuel tank cleaned and ok fuel flow is good and the petrol is fresh and I'm stumped !!!

I agree but what component it will run quite happily on choke it's as if it's being starved of fuel but the fuel is flowing freely and when it's ridden anything over 1500 rpm it flies ?????? something to do with the slow running but what ??

You missed something in the carb, a piece of metal, a tiny piece of dirt, just know that is about the only reason for no ilde, have owned japanese bikes since the Honda 50 scooter (1962), am sure about this.

Idle adjustment. idles too fast and will not shift

The idle adjustment screw on the carburetor usually has a spring on the shaft. Turn it counterclockwise to lower the idle speed. It probably won't shift because the gears are turning too fast...assuming that it's an automatic.

Dakota wont start, radiator fan relay shorts out

is the vehicle overheating and using water ,rough idle could indicate a blown head gasket ,try bypass relay if u know how to see if fan works ,otherwise it may well be that fan is shorted and relayn kicks in and out because of fan shorted

Why wont my chainsaw tick over, it revs up but not tick over. also, cannot start it after 2-3 mins of usage, why?

Check the air cleaner and muffler for plugging. Try turning the idle speed screw (not the L jet screw) CW one full turn. Does it now idle? If the chain keeps turning at idle, back off the speed screw until the chain stops after revving the engine. When the engine won't start, remove the spark plug and check for blue, snappy spark. If the plug insulator is black, try a new correct type plug. If sparks ok, then squirt some fuel mix into the plug hole, replace the plug and try to start. If you get a pop or two, then fuel delivery is a likely problem. If it again runs, the plug may have been the problem. Otherwise, check the fuel filter, fuel line, and carburetor for any loose fasteners. Finally, run the engine at full throttle--it should 4-stroke with no load, but immediately 2-stroke when cutting. Adjust the H jet needle to achieve this. hope this helps!

1995 Mazda MPV Noise

if it's a knocking sound it could be worn internal compnents ie. rod bearings. if it's a ticking sound the valves may need adjustment.
either way a mechanic will have to hear the sound to properly identify it.

Loss of power car ticks over ok

Had a similar problem before. Change the feul filter. This often fails due to sand in gas and limits gas being pumped into your turbo. If you change this and the cars runs fine, eventually you will have to change the feul pump. Do the feul filter first. It's cheap and easy.
