Most of the time this is an issue with the voltage regulator. If you have a multimeter, you can test to see if it's drawing current when the key is off.

One more question, since i have a new battery, and we pin point it to be the alternator, will it drain the battery while the car is sitting over night, i need to know and thanks

Hi Laura:
Most modern vehicles have a bunch of "smart" things that draw a very small amount of power all the time, so left alone, the drain on the battery will eventually make it go dead.
Anything that draws more power, like a fuel pump or lights, is usually switched so that when the ignition is off, there is no power consumed.
The short sweet answer, The car should be fine sitting overnight. It might be a good idea to have jumper cables and a friend handy just in case.

My ford f150 has a new battery and starts fine all day untill it sits all night then its dead

Someone will need to pull the fuses and disconnect the major electrical components until you find the power drain. You use a meter or test light to watch the battery voltage. It could be anything from a stuck relay, to a short in the wiring.

2002 grand voyager limited 2.5 dl, chime sounds when ignition key is in the ignition and door is open, when door is closed it stops but when left over night battery is flat

I don't see the connection - - you would need to find out if the battery has a dead cell or if something in the van is draining the battery.
Once the battery is tested someone would need to check every circuit with a meter or test light to look for the drain.

Battery goes flat over night

You'll need to have someone check for a battery drain.
Something in the car is using electricity when the key is off, or the battery has an internal short and is draining itself.
If you disconnect the battery overnight and it is still dead in the morning, you need a new battery.

Transit battery drains over night

I guess my first question would be how do you know the battery is ok ?
A battery with a dead cell will go down on its own.
The normal process is to disconnect the battery and let it sit - check the voltage every couple of hours.
If the battery is ok, you will need to disconnect the major sections - circuits on the vehicle and test for drains one at a time until you find the circuit that is using voltage with everything switched off.
Sometimes you can pull major fuses and then put them back one at a time. Putting a test light between the neg cable and the battery post will tell you if a circuit is drawing current. If everything is off the test light should not glow after you first connect it.
The ECM will draw a very small amount of voltage all of the time.

Battery died, replaced 3,three,111, days Ihave no ing. or starer power

Something is draining the battery, Is the battery drained after sitting over night or within driven miles. If it drains over night power is being puled from a source, or the voltage regulator inside the alternator is pulling the power and draining you battery.

Every night when i put my 88 Camaro in the garage the battery would be dead. Nothing was left on. I do have an alarm system in the Camaro the siren is not connected. My left electric door lock does ...

Have the battery tested - could have dead cells..
And have the charging sytem tested..
Any power drain when the car is off can easily be detected..
