The igniton switch on your 2000 FLH should be an electronic switch with plug on it that has three wires. That's all. What the order of these wires are, I don't know. Never had to replace a plug but did replace plenty of switches. Good Luck, Steve

How do you replace an ignition switch in a 1994 mitsubishi galant ls

Look under you steering column somewhere near the ignition lock(the thing you put the key in). You should see a plastic box with a bunch of wires running into it. The wires will be on a harness which unplugs from the switch. unhook the wire harness and unbolt the plastic box(the ignition switch) Install the new switch in the reverse order. Hope that helps. It shouldn't be to hard.

I wanted to know how do u change the ignition switch on a 96 Ford explorer. I turn my key and it is real loose and doesn't do.anything

This is for a v-8 96 ford explorer:

Let me know if you need the v-6 instructions which may be the same. I did not check yet. prev.gif next.gif Ignition Switch REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the steering wheel.
  3. As necessary, remove all under dash panels in order to gain access to the ignition switch.
  4. As necessary, lower the steering column to gain working clearance.
  5. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connectors.
  6. Remove the ignition switch retaining screws from the studs. Disengage the ignition switch from switch rod. Remove the switch from the vehicle. To install:
  7. Position the lock cylinder in the LOCK position.
  8. To set the switch, position a wire in the opening in the outer surface of the switch through its positions until the wire drops down into the slot. NOTE: The slot is in the bottom of the switch where the rod must be inserted to allow full movement through the switch positions.
  9. Position the ignition switch on the column studs and over the actuating rod. Torque the retaining nuts to 40–64 inch lbs. (4.5–7.2 Nm).
  10. Remove the wire from the slot in the housing. Continue the installation in the reverse order of the removal procedure.

Number one is the one at the pulley end of the motor and number 4 is at the flywheel end of the motor.

System uses a Distributorless Ignition System (DIS) with 2 ignition coils. Cylinders No. 1 and 4 use the same ignition coil. Cylinders No. 2 and 3 use the same ignition coil.
