How do i replace gaskets

There are gaskets all over the place such as one under the valve cover, one around the tranny pan, one around the oil pan. The process is similar though. You remove all the nuts and use caution to carefully scrape off all of the old gasket WITHOUT scratching the metal surface. Get the surface nice and clean, take the old gasket and make, model and year of your car to the auto store, get a new gasket which is relatively inexpensive, put it on and then replace the pan or valve cover and then all of the nuts. It is best if you have a torque wrench so that you tighten all nuts to manufacturers specifications (not one lose and one real tight). This will help prevent it from leaking in the future. Sometimes some people use a tube of gasket maker. We don't like the stuff, we prefer to replace what we took out.

I have a 99 Dodge Ram - automatic . I can shift into any gear, but it won't move forward unless I put it in low 1. When I get to 10 mph I can shift into drive and it drives fine. No slippin

Sounds like it needs new valve kits, and or a major overhaul, try checking selector linkages are lined up and tight, otherwise, if it has access to the sump pan then, drain fluid, take pan off carefully, look to see a nut threaded over a locking screw, hold screw with screwdriver and loosen nut anti clockwise, once loose, hold nut and turn screw inwards counting how many turns until all the way in and note this number, then turn 5 full turns out, hold screw and tighten nut, replace with new oil, check pan for filings, note and clean refit sump pan.

Dropped a 8mm nut into intake manifold took manifold back off cant see the nut drained oil still dont see it next thinking of takeing off oil pan what do you suggest

if you dropped this nut into the inlet manifold then i would suggest you look in the head ports ,if its not their then it could have gone down into the sump and if it has then dont worry about it ,so long as its not stuck in the manifold on some oily substance then its ok ok behind a valve stem your safe it will lay in the sump and not cause any damage ,some vehicles have a magnetic sump plug so it will stick to this eventually .

Were are the nuts or nut to change the oil on the sump on a hyundai 97 sports wagon

Locate the oil pan on the bottom of the engine. You will need to raise the vehicle in order to crawl underneath it. Be sure to use jack stands to hold the vehicle up. The drain plug will be on the bottom of the oil pan near the rear of the pan. Do not confuse the oil pan with the transmission. I don't think the transmission pan has a drain plug, but I could be mistaken. Some vehicles do have drain plugs on the transmission sump.

Oil plug

Bottom of oil pan...underneath the bike. Approach the undercarriage from the leftside of the bike, so you will not have to deal with the exhaust pipes. Remember to change your oil filter with every other oil change.
