Zx6r 2004. Bike ran great for two months. Went out to dinner last night and came out to my bike not starting. Trailered it home, started when taking off trailer. Went for a 15 minute ride and parked it....

Hi, Matt it saddens me to inform you that you have to put on your Battery Priest Robe and prepare yourself for the Ceremonial "LOAD TEST" but before you begin, maintenance type batteries must be topped off with distilled Holy Water and all batteries must present their terminals to the battery charging altar to receive the electrical infusion of Holy Ions until they have reached a 100% full charge of 12.5 volts or better.
Below is a quick and easy test to see if your battery is in good condition or needs Last Rites and must be replaced.
1. Start by disconnecting the spark plug cables.
2. Adjust voltmeter to DC volts 20-volt range
3. Place the voltmeter leads to the battery terminals.
4. Turn the run/off switch to run.
5. Turn the ignition switch on and press the starter button.
6. Watch the voltmeter as your engine turns over for 15 seconds.
7. If the voltage drops below 9.5 volts, the battery is faulty and must be replaced.

Won't changing up gear

The GearBox-press and clutch disk needs revision.
This happens when you avoid using the brakes, more like reducing speed using the gears.
It is very dangerous if it brakes by itself when riding, So I suggest you start by checking the Clutch disk and the Press may be worn out..

I've got a 1996 Kawasaki ZX6R. The bike runs great. However, it will shift down into first gear, but won't shift up past neutral. Any thoughts? Thanks, Lance

The bike has a bent shift fork. The engine must come out then gets flipped upside down to remove the bottom half of the crankcase. This allows access to the gears and shift forks. The repair is not recommended for the home mechanic. Please rate my answer. Thanks. tombones49_211.gif

1999 Kawasaki ZX-6R Ninja how to replace the brake pads

Hi, Mandysummers for this scenario you will need your service manual that has all fastener torque specs and a wiring diagram on the back pages, parts fiche, and owners manual if you can't find the best tool you ever bought for your Kawasaki, despair not, for a mere $15 you can download another one.

Anyone know the firing order for a 96 zx6r

1-3-4-2 when you consider as 1rst the far left hand cylinder as you ride the bike. But you need to know that the firing coils are engaged in pairs.
The 1rst and 4rth fire together and the 2nd and 3rd too.The difference is that while the 1rst fires the mixture the 4rth fires in the exhausts inside the cylinder etc
