Remove the points cover. Make a scratch mark with a pin or nail across join of points backing plate and the outer housing and loosen two screws holding the backing plate for the point breaker just enough to rotate the plate 1mm anti-clockwise. Tighten retaining screws. Try starting now. If no joy, repeat procedure moving clockwise 1mm forward of the mark. This can be achieved with the slot end of a screwdriver between the two lugs on plate. Cheers.

It is a matter of fine tuning that timing, ensure the spark plug gap is about 0.7-8mm and plug is good condition. The condition of the contact breakers has in impact on fatness of spark, give them a clean with some fine emery paper. Make sure the manifold between carby and inlet port is in good condition as does not leak ANY air! Fresh, correct octane fuel I presume?

Battery should be fully charged to get optimum chance of firing. Make sure all lights are turned off, and electrical connections are good. Have the valves and camchain been looked at or replaced recently?

I have just purchased a Sky Team JC90-6 as a non starter and I am told it is a 90cc (4 stroke?)engine, but I cannot seem to find any technical information on this model?

Hi, Bob and you won't unless you contact Skyteam or Jincheng directly 47 years ago I worked at a Honda Dealership in sales your JC-90 looks exactly like a 1970 Honda Trail 70 which leads me to believe that your engine is also a Honda 90 engine for more information about your question and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the blue links below. 90 mazda 626 cranks but wont turn over

Have you checked for spark?

have you pulled a plug after cranking to see if it is wet?

does the engine sound like it is turning over faster than usual?

did it just not start or did it stall. Did this happen after you changed the spark plugs?

Yz125 2005 not get fire

Its quite a brief description of issue but any way I assume it is not starting???

You need 3 things to have a running motor 1 Spark at plug test this by removing plug connecting it back to the plug lead lay it on motor and kick bike over to see or not the spark, 2 fuel getting through to spark plug... test this by smelling and feeling the spark plug immediately after kicking it over should be wet and strong fuel smelling... 3 compression there are special tools for this but a simple back yard test is remove spark plug put your finger or thumb over the hole the plug came out of and gently kick bike over if your finger is not forced off instantly and you can resist some or most of the pressure when kicking it over then you have nowhere near enough compression...

This at least will give you diagnosis to know what to investigate further to get the beast to fire... Good luck

Dont know how to start my honda cb 350

First- turn on the gas. wait for it to get to the carb. Next switch on- close the choke, give 1/4 throttle, Kick it - if it's a no start after about 4 kicks - open the choke and give 1/2 throttle and close the gas.(your flooded)- 4 more kicks and check the spark plug for wet fuel or dry. If dry- dip the business of the plug in fuel and try again. Still no start- replace the plug.

If all that fails- you can disconnect the ignition switch and that will separate the wiring from the ignition- be careful here because you can not shut it off with the switch it can be killed with the choke or pull off the ignition wire to the spark plug.

Still no start, do a compression test as it needs at least 80# to fire.

Bike not starting at all. sometimes it starts after continous kicks but no use .agian the same problem.

I would suggest that you cleanyour carburetors.
To tell if they need cleaned, spray carb clean in the back of the carb and the kick it over, if it starts right up, then you need to clean your carbs., Drain your gas tank and install a new fuel filter, and put new gas in the tank too.

If it doesn't start right up on the carb cleaner, then check to see if you are getting spark.
If you have spark, then test your compression.
Compression should be at least 125-145 psi but not less than 100 psi to run.

If you don't have spark, pull power wire off coil and see if you have power to the coil.
If you do have power then your coil is bad.
if you don't have power, make sure your on/off switch is working. check wires

As long as you have good compression, good fuel and good spark, that motor will start.

Pull out the plugs and see if they are dry, or wet or , black and sooty.
If dry - no fuel
if wet - no fire or misfire
if black and sooty - clean & check gap or replace with new ones.

If it has spark, compression and getting fuel it should hit, backfire or something.pull out a spark plug and see if its wet with fuel or dry, squirt a small amount of fuel into the plug hole ,replace the plug and see if it tries to run,if so then clean the carburetors then give it a try

My 93 honda prelude dont start i did a full overhaul but i can get it to start timing is right so i dont know wat to do next

Timing is right, but the firing order is incorrect then it could not start. Make sure connection at the spark plug is in the firing order. Let get back to the basic: need spark and fuel. After several cranking, take plug # 1 out to see if it wet. If it is wet then you have fuel. If it is dry then you don't have fuel. Start to find out what is the root cause for fuel not coming. Now touch the spark plug to the engine chassis and have a helper to start engine. If there is spark strong then you have spark. If no spark then you know what to do: find the root cause of the problem. If you have spark and fuel then need to recheck timing by Top Dead Center: Piston #1 is up, mark at camshaft and 0 mark at crankshaft all line up together while intake and exhaust valve closed. Good luck.
