Why would you want to adjust the floats? It's generaly never something that has to be done. It's set at factory and never needs tampering with. If your having carby problems, try other things first, cleaning them out, mabey re jetting.

Where can i buy a carb float bowl for my 2006 Suzuki GSX600F Kanata???

unless the bowl itself is damaged speak to suzuki as they may have new old stock to sell cheap to give them garage space, otherwise there is other mods to make it run slightly easier, like maybe a bandit 600 carb bank?

if its the carb body itself, sounds screwed to me (no pun intended) check the threads and see.

I have a 1996 bandit 600. It has been sitting for 3 months and it starts fine with the choke on but will not allow me to turn the choke off, even after running for a few. Also it will idle, with the choke...

Hi, you could try undoing the drain screws at the bottom of each float bowl, to let out the old fuel from each carb which may have become contaminated, however it is my thoughts that the contamination caused by the fuel standing for a period of time in the carbs has formed a varnish type effect blocking the main jets, also causing the float needle to become stuck in the closed position restricting the flow of petrol into the carbs, not such a bad job if you are mechanicaly mindedk

What is prime on petrol tap on bandit 600 1997.what position should arrow be pointing for on /off/reserve.cheers bandit.

Prime is for when you have taken the carbs off and need to fill up the float bowls.And your arrow should be pointing to ON when your driving the bike. Usually this is UP or to the rear of the bike on most bikes if it doesnt have a engraving on the petcock to show can also check an owners manual online for the correct position.

Brand new kohler highline k 11499 96. Tank fills fine, but when I flush the toilet it lets about one fourth, if that, Water out of tank into bowl before canister float slams shut???

most modern flappers(what you call a canister float if i understand you correctly) have some type of adjustment feature which controls this.(like maybe rotating the flapper one way or the other) the old fashioned way was to take up the slack in the chain attached to the flapper so that when someone pushes the handle the flapper is pulled higher. make & model # or a pic would help me say w/certainty how yours works. just text me here if you need anything else and good luck:)

2002 Suzuki DR400 dual sport - My problem is I'm getting fuel into the gear box/crank case. Oil level keeps filing up with fuel - where is it coming from? Any ideas?

The problem is probably you carb. float is sticking open,you need to check the float bowl to see if it has fluid inside the float,the float may have a crack in it ,if so you will need to replace with a new one. to get to the float you have to take the lower half of the carb apart,it should only take one screw to seperate it.

I have a 2002 suzuki bandit 600 that has been in storage-was running previous to being stored-cleaned tank, carburetor floats & needles, pulled spark plugs & checked for fire, checked ignition...

have you a spark?sounds like ouyr float level is too high and the carbs are flooding,try to decrease the float level,she will not start with too much gas

Will not idle

the idle adjustment is between the centre 2 float bowls. Reach down under the carbs and u should find it

Bandit 600 starting problems

Sounds like a weak battery. Swap batteries and see if it will start.
Is the kill switch on? Does the side stand have a kill switch? Is it working properly? Is the gas valve on? Got gas? Check fuses. Got spark?

Clean the fuel system
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).

Drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock spark plug and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Remove the two screws on the outside throat of the carb and spray into the screw holes as well.
Be sure to put these two screws back in the same hole they came out of. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two screws down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each screw one and one half turns outward. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. Set the idle speed with the idle screw. This process should get you back on the road.

if the carb was really cleaned out, then i would suspect the float is not set properly (where #14 in the pic meets #19, assuming it is adjustable), the float (#14) has a hole in it and is no longer "floating" which turns off fuel to the bowl when it raises #19 (needle valve) or the needle valve is not connected properly to the float (common problem when reassembling a carb.

one way to check is to remove the float bowl and with your finger, push the float up (it pivots) and turn on the petcock. if fuel still pours out the needle valve, then the needle valve may not be connected properly to the float or the needle valve is worn. if it doesn't pour out, then i would replace the float as it is no longer floating (one way to also tell is if you see fuel inside the float if its plastic) to turn off fuel or adjust the float tang (assuming the float is brass. if its plastic, then there is no adjustment). good luck.

Feels like a misfire

It's time to adjust the valves. You have tight valves and most likely need to adjust the cam chain. This is classic when the valves are tight. Most likely you can start it up when cold ok but after a few minutes performance deteriorates this being due the valve lash being to tight.
The miss fire is due to a lean situation.
