Mgb tappet noise

About 5 to 8 thousands clearance is standard. intake less than exhaust, (exhaust valves run hotter than intakes) If more than that, they will make noise. In rare incidences flat spots wear into a cam and cause noise and wear to the lifters. Check your oil pump for good pressure and run 20-50 oil. Drain oil during changes when it is hot to get rid of more sediment.

Are 2000 GTs with 100K + miles prone to need swaybar , shock, etc bushings? Mine started a rattling underneath and someone told me they were prone to wear out bushings. Is that so?

Sway bar and suspension bushings - Yes, Shock/struts yes if shocks/struts haven't been replaced already. Check stabilizer links before changing anything, Stab links wear out and are common to make rattling noises.

My washer doesn't agitate but make some noise and looks like motor is running it does spin and drain i had already replaced the agitator assembly with the new one

Some of these agitators use small plastic tabs to make them work. these may be broken, they tend to wear out after a few years. these tabs are located inside the agitator housing, simply remove the agitator and look to see if these are in bad shape

Abs brakes chirping noise, when pedal depressed,

worn out brake pads and slightly warped rotors. Most brake pads have small steel tabs that touch the rotor at a 90 degree angle when it is time for replacement. if you keep driving on the worn pads, it will stop chirping but that just means the tabs (also called wear indicators) have broken off and repair is about to get very pricey.

Maytag dryer makes loud ''thumping'' noise. It's loudest when first starting but continues when it is running. I've already replaced the belt.

Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication. Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots or wear on them replace them. If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade of machine oil such as 3 in One oil. Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem. I will include these two websites for parts and further help: Both also have chat assistance 24/7. Good Luck, I hope this helps Please rate me, Thank You

Excessive tire wear, 29000 miles. Tires are cuping out and roaring. Tire dealer (Goodyear) said it was alignment. The truck always drove perfect.but I had it aligned anyway and noise is unbearable! 2008...

I am not sure I can help you much, I have bought, sold, used and abused tires all my life so I will try to help... First if you bought big aggressive tires that look cool, don't expect them not to make noise. Second, if you have ever run them underinflated and the cupping and adverse wear has started the only thing that may help reduce but not eliminate noise it is tire rotation.... Third aggressive tread is always noisy... And gets noisier with age. You have already aligned the truck, that is a step in the right direction. Keep tires properly inflated and rotate them often to square tread back up. Once cupping is minimised noise should go down. Just so you know I have learned about tire through a lot of personal experience. Don't by an aggressive tread if 98% of the time you or on the highway for the once or twice you may go off road... It's not worth it...

1979 yamaha xs 650 f engine is making whining sound while runnin

Main drive gears. The bike is pretty old, so there is undoubtedly a wear pattern on the faces of the gears, especially the higher two gears. The crankshaft bearing may also be worn and need to be replaced. Does the engine whine only when the gears are engaged, or also when running in neutral?

My freezer is not freezing properly

It is overcharged with refrigerant. The "Hissing" noise is the internal relief valve going off that is located inside the compressor shell itself. This is a safety device and can possibly effect the compressor performance.
If you need more info, let me know and I'll try to break it down some more.

Good luck and hope this helps.
