My bike isn't lighting on the gauges and the connections are fine. the bike had a little smoke out of the electronic igniton box i had a loose connection on my battery and i removed the wires to test the alternator and thats when it smoked so i turned off the bike. i believe this could be the voltage regulator and now the cdi(ignition) box and but the bike still rolls over would this box make the gauges light up or am i looking in the wrong place

was running fine but isn't now ive checked all the fuses under the seat and the main fuse under the rear fairing i jumpstarted the bike and to test the alternator on the bike i removed the battery wires while it was running and it still ran fine then noticed a little smoke out of the cdi (ignition box) under the seat so i quick shut it off now i'm thinking that maybe the voltage regulator is out and when i removed the wires the power couldn't go to the battery and it popped my box but now the bike won't start the neu tral or oil light or anything on the guages isn't lighting up but the bike still rolls over would the cdi have anything to do with the gauge cluster or if there is fuses somewhere else where they might be

Either the box is fried or the voltage regulator is bad.

First is the bike still running or won't run now? lets say it's running but your gauges won't light. start at your fuse box, do you have power at the fuse? yes, keep moving down the path till the power stops. Next is the turn signal lights on the gauge work high beam light things light that. please let me know, i need to know a little bit more so i can help you better and fix this little bug. i have my chat turned on so feel free if that works for you. other then that i'll be waiting for an e-mail

Have the oil pressure checked with a special test gauge, you may have a bad sending unit for the gauge or a bad oil pump, the test will tell the tale.

Check the battery connections at both ends. If they are loose, this could cause the type of problems you are having. If this isn't the problem, you will have to take the bike to your local dealer and have them hook the bike up to Digital Technician to read the code(s) that are causing your engine light to come on. Harley also sells a code reader so you can check and erase the codes yourself, but it costs over $100,00. I have one and it has paid for itself many times over!

Layed my bike down it will not start now all gauges work just click once and stops i hear the fuel pump but have no clue

check your battery and all connections to the starter, sounds like it isn't engaging.
If you are lucky just a loose connection, next thing could be the battery, how hard did you lay it down? see if it is cracked or if it leaked
last resort is to pull the starter and check it out
hope this helps

The lights and speedometer/ odometer are two separate things. First thing i would do is check your speed sensor, and wiring. My ground wire rubbed through and that was all that made mine stop. Don't know the model or year of your bike so can't really go into much more detail then that.
