SOURCE: i need help putting my

I can email a PDF of the page in the factory service manual that shows how to time the engine. You will need a timing light. The file has two line art drawings and two photos. I can call tomorrow to get your email address. I can then email you and attach the PDF file. Below is what it looks like. The Fixya system doesn't handle PDF files. Please rate my answer. SOURCE: timing marks not lining up on xl 125 its either

When this occurs, the timing chain has stretched to the point where you'll never get the valve timing exactly right. I'd replace the chain, they're cheap enough (about 25 bucks) and I bet it will line up spot on. Have removed some Honda timing chains that were almost stretched a full link longer than the new one I was installing. Good luck!

SOURCE: putting in new cam shaft seals left side it was

Loosen the belt tensioner on that side , take the belt off and carefully rotate the cam to the timing mark. Do not force it , you don't want to bend a valve. You may have to turn the motor so there is room to turn the cam to the correct position. Make sure all the marks are lined up, put the belt back on, and reset the tensioner. Now double check the timing marks before finishing the reassembly.

I have a 2003 Predator 500 put all new electrical parts on it there is no kill switch on it and it's not getting spark

Hi, Chris and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting / leaking, spark plug cable connections loose.
6. Faulty ignition coil or ignition / electronic module
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

Can i put a flyweel from a 2003 polaris predator on a 2005 polaris predator? i recently bought an 03 and i have an 05 and i am wanting to make one complete bike out of the two

If you have a 2005 ATV A05GJ50AA PREDATOR 500 and a 2003 same size..then YES, the flywheel is part# 30878055 and WILL fit in either model

if you have a both PREDATOR 50 or 90 the the flywheel is the same as well for either year.. part#...0450525

Hope this helps

Good luck

Polaris 500 losing power wont idle

if you havint changed the oil when needed or used the wrong oil, then the problum is the cam lobe is gone!! this happened to me.

The two exhaust valves share one lobe on the cam, its common for that lobe to ware down to the point that its not opening the valves,

My lobe was rounded off!!

you have to take off the gas tank, up by the sparkplug is the valve cover take that off and try to start,, if you dont see the valves on bottom moving then its the cam,

new cam = $250

if you do it your self make sure to tie the cam gear to the frame so the timing chain dont skip a touth,

if you find out that it is the cam and need some more tips e-mail me @

Polaris 500, starts fine but when you give it gas is stalls

check the exhaust lobe on the cam. these are prone to wear if oil changes are neglected. try to run it with the airbox lid removed and see if there is any change.

predators were known to either jump cam timing due to a faulty cam chain tensioner or even shear the flywheel key. use the timing plugs on the left side cover and a screwdriver in the spark plug hole to find top dead center and verify the "T" appears in the top plug hole. if not the key sheared. if it does look at the cam timing marks

try putting both cams down one tooth. i took mine apart and and drew a picture of the cam locations and they did not line up with the manuals picture. so i thought that my pic was wrong so i changed it to what the manual said, and it did what you said just back fired. so thats when i took it back apart to put the cam gears down one tooth so they looked like my picture that i drew. then i put it back togther and she ran great. you just want the left one just below and the righht just above if you see both bottom dots its not right.
