You found a 2005 with 2500 miles?? Buy it! There should be no, none, zero problems with that bike. It should be perfect. These bikes are built. I have 3 of them. And with 17,000 miles on my 02 S4, it is still in perfect shape, a couple dings here and there, nothing ,major, sat all winter in a cold garage, charged up the battery and it fired right up and took off down the road. No problem. I take that back, the only thing you might find wrong with it is the battery. They have a short life span. Other than that you can't beat it. You will be hooked on a quality bike. One of mine was crushed by a truck while parked, the guy didn't see it, and he didn't hear it being ground into the pavement cause he just kept on backing up. Left my bike in a puddle of gas. the insurance co, totaled it because of the front end and gas tank damage, they gave me $200 more than I paid for it 4 years earlier. And the insurance guy said if it was a Honda or a Harley, I would have gotten half that. They hold their value. One more thing, they have to be maintained, the valve adj is expensive but worth it. It can be done by anybody who is good with a wrench, but you have to do the math. That is one thing that scares people off. My last valve adj was $600. Hope this helps.

Im in the market for a bigger bike but i am young and on a budget...there is a local 1997 triumph thunderbird with 15,200 miles being sold... i like how it looks and that the price is low enough but he...

You are buying someone elses problem without ever having riden the motorcycle.
..There could be more problems... My answer would be no. I would offer him no more than $1500 and have HIM make the repairs on the bike. Take it or leave it...They are plenty more used bikes on the market to select from.

I have a 2006 kawasaki valcan 500 with 2500 miles on it manual said i need 10 40 oil hubby siad i can put 5-30 advanced full synthetic oil for high mileage of 75,000.he said it dose not matters witch oil...

With out getting in the middle of a hubby/wife thing, Ha, Here is what i highly recommend: Especially because the bike has only 2500 miles on it, and it is only a 500 cc, i would positively put 10/40, otherwise might not make it to the 75,000. 5-30 is ok, but designed for higher cc bikes in my opinion , and for higher mileage bikes.

I have a big twin Harley. I use synthetic oil in the engine. I ride about 14,000 miles per year. I live in WI How often should I change oil.

It really a question about comfortability. Some folks change their oil(s) every 5000 miles (or more), some every 2500/3000 miles and some might do it as often as every 1000 miles. Depending upon the model year of your bike current H-D specifications recommend changing the engine oil, transmission fluid, and primary chain case oils every 5000 miles whether using conventional or synthetic fluids.

FRONT DISC DISTOTION

No it is not common, you are using the front brake to much or the caliper is stuck. Get the front wheel off the ground and turn the wheel see if the wheel turns freely if it does then your not using the brakes properly. However if it does turn free ride it warm up the brakes and check the front wheel again. If it sticks when it is up in the air then you know your problem is the caliper sticking or if it is cableoperated you could have a frayed cable. also check that the rear brakes are adjusted so it grabs before the front brakes. ope this helps and get back to me if you need more help Thanks for using fixya.

What is the value of a 1974 rd 250 cc yamaha ....100 % original with 383 miles

A similar new bike costs around $2500. If it has been kept in a garage, I would guess your bike would be worth $1000 to a collector. It is 35 years old and there are very few parts available. A person who wants to actually use the bike as transportation would be foolish to buy it due to the parts problem. Additionally, most dealers will not work on a bike more than 10 years old.

Whatever gas was in it the last time it was ridden has evaporated leaving a varnish residue behind. The gas tank may be well rusted on the inside also. This is not a good combination. Generally, the varnish can be the bigger problem if it has plugged up the circuits in the carbs. Honestly, I would love to have it down here in Dallas. If something goes wrong I can fix it... IF the parts can be found. I checked Babbit's and found lots of periferal parts, but side covers, crank, generator, pistons and rings, crank seals, cylinders and heads, carbs, fenders, forks,
