When you replace the air filter clean the inside of carbs change the plugs and test your plugwires for normal resistance, the spit and sputter should be gone. If not check the coil for any visible damage.(test it) Might change the oil after new clutch is installed, to complete the service. Ur Welcome!

Bandit 1200 oil in crankcase

No i would not expect it to, if anything blocking the vent hose to the gas tank would cause a vacuum and stoping fuel from flowing as easy , most likely a faulty fuel pump diaphram or incorrect float height.

My bandit 1200 is only running on 3 cylinders

You might have a vacuum leak. With the engine running, spray carb cleaner in very short spurts around the vacuum lines and carb boots. When the engine speeds up, you found the leak.

Ive bought a bike (1998 suzuki bandit thats been standing for a few years starts great but needs a good service whats the best way to go about this) im thinking of emptying it of all fluids (petrol and oil...

run some seafoam through the tank to clean up a little of the crud thats bound to be in the lines and carbs, check all the fuel and brake lines, flush the brake fluid both front and rear, change the oil filter, air filter, and spark plugs. get a shop manual and go from there.

1997 suzuki 1200 bandit runs rough spits out of number 2 carb on idle

its spitting fuel or coolant? - not sure but this has happened with a leaking manifold, I know it sounds impossible but I heard of it... just check the manifold anyway* (go figure)
if its fuel being spat out I''d say pitted/worn/loose/misaligned/bent intake valve(s) on no2. any pinking?
if its coolant> head gasket*

Clutch replacement on 98 suzuki 1200 bandit

all you do is drain the oil before removing the right hand engine casing the bigger one of the two then undo all the little bolts holding the small springs in place then rmove the face plate and take out the clutch plates and replace with new ones remember to put the new ones in the same order the old ones came out there should always be a friction plate between clutch plates once done put casing back and refill with new oil
hope this helps

Best oil to put in a bandit 1200 1998

For the Bandit 1200 use only regular motorcycle oil. Stay away from synthetics for this particular engine. The Bandit has a weak clutch and using synthetics will cause slippage and premature wear. I recommend either Suzuki's oil 10-w40 or Yamalube 10-w40. I have over 30,000 miles on my Bandit with no problems at all. I hope this helps.

Will a sump off a 600 bandit fit a 1200

The pumps have different part numbers > The 600 is #16400-06B01 and the 1200 is 16400-06B20
Chances are, even if the pump "fits", the 600 will not have the volume of oil flow needed for the 1200 motor. Starve the 1200 of oil and plan on a new engine in the near future. Sorry.

A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!

Oil plug

Bottom of oil pan...underneath the bike. Approach the undercarriage from the leftside of the bike, so you will not have to deal with the exhaust pipes. Remember to change your oil filter with every other oil change.
