Steering wobbles when driving

Improperly balanced wheels can cause the wheels to wobble at speed which can be felt through the steering wheel. A local tyre shop can test the wheels for balance and make the necessary adjustments to the wheels by adding weights to even out the balance.

Steering wheel wobbles when driving slowly and in a straight line

you need to have your tires checked for a slipped belt, also if you get a shake in the steering wheel when you apply the brake you need to have the brake rotors re-surfaced or replaced.

Wobble while driving. After inspecting saw that the right front boot on the axle was weather cracked, assuming no more grease inside, what parts do I need to replace?

A CV boot will generally not cause a wobble. If the boot is not cracked open there is plenty of grease inside. If the boot was leaking grease you would see it slung all over the back side of the knuckle, brake caliper, and inside of the wheel.

If the steering wheel is moving back and forth at slow speeds the first thing I would check for is a separated tire or a bent wheel. If you feel the tread of the tire it should feel smooth all the way around. If there is a high spot or bump it is separated.

The easiest thing to do is have the tires balanced. Tell them you are getting a wobble in the steering wheel. They will inspect the front tires closely and if they find an issue have them show you what they found.

I have a 2000 Suzuki 1500 LC, I've got a wobble in the front end when I'm going about 30 -40 mph. I've been told that it's fork oil but not sure it has oil in it as it's got springs. Any idea what it...

A wobble that appears when slowing down is many times just low tire pressure. Check the front tire pressure should be 32-35 pds. Another thing that can cause a wobble is worn or loosely adjusted fork frame neck bearings(steering stem bearings). Disassemble around the handlebars down to the frame neck till you get the upper triple clamp off or can reach the adjuster nut , just underneath on top of the frame neck enough to tighten the steering stem bearings. You will need a shock adjusting tool (curved end with a single tooth) Comes standard in all Honda tool kits). Next, put a jack under the motor to lift the front wheel . Carefully wiggle the front wheel to see if you have a bad wheel bearing. If you do not have fork oil in your forks, you could possibly damage the chrome tubes. No oil would mean the forks would not go up and down smoothly. Do not add oil to your forks. Do not over fill your forks with oil. If you are not sure how much oil is in them, drain them and refill them with the correct amount. If you over fill the forks and drive the bike you will destroy the fork tubes.

sounds like it time to have the front end balljoints inspected. Only with an inspection will you get the proper results. Why guess, this is a safety issue.

There is a wobble in the steering wheel between 80 and 90 km/h what could it be?

A steering vibration at high speeds is usually a result of front tire imbalance. A loose or worn front suspension or steering component can sometimes cause a vibration as well. You should check over all the joints (ie: tie rods, ball joints, track bar etc) and if that checks out have the front tires balanced.

2000 Hyundai Sonata front end wobbles.

put the front tires on the back and see if it changes.
alot of times,if the suspension is defective it wears the tires uneven ,out of round.
check and make sure the wheel nuts are tight and torqued properly.
alot of techs use just the gun,and not a torque stick and overtighten the wheel nuts.

Steering wheel wobbles while driving

If it seems to happen more when rounding a curve than on the straight, it may be your CV joint. I'm not sure but I think you can replace the half shaft that connects the wheel to the engine. Otherwise, you may have to find a press to press out the old one. It's kinda like a U-joint on rear wheel drive cars. Or it could be the tire out of balance, bad tire, bad stabalizer bar. Gonna have to jack it up and get under it and start shaking stuff to find out what's loose. GOod luck and have fun....
