Unbolt the 2-3 bolt caliper, remove them which would lead to releasing caliper then removing old pads. Push brake piston back before installing new pads. Reverse removal process to install pads. Make sure no grease or oil substance exist when you put the pads back as this will cause ineffective braking.

How do I reset the parking brake after replacing the rear brake pads on a 2008 Dodge Caravan?

Parking brake should be unaffected if you only changed the rear disc pads. The parking brake self adjusts every time you back up and apply the brakes if it is functioning properly.

How to change rear brake pads in 2008 dodge caravan?

In this tutorial, we learn how to check the brake pads on a 2008 Dodge Caravan, check the thickness of the brake pads on the car to see if they are thick enough. The rear pad is surrounded by a gold piece called the "shoe" and the rotor. The front pad has to be inspected by laying on your back and looking for the pad to see how thick it is. I want to know what tools i need to change my disc brakes and how to do it on my 1991 ltd crown vic

Tools:

10" C clamp- for compressing caliper
Socket set- 12mm or 13mm ( Might be a 10mm) for unbolting caliper from the bracket.
Screw driver- To pry up on caliper if needed to get off brakes.

How to:
1. remove tire
2. Unbolt the Caliper- bolts are located on the backside of the caliper
3. Might have to use the screw driver and pry up on the caliper to get it off the brake pads.
4. Remove brake pads from brake pad bracket
5. Install new brake pads
6. Compress caliper piston with C clamp all the way in.
7. Re- install caliper and the 2 bolts you took out
8. Start car and pump brakes several times.
9. Put tire back on car.

2008 honda accord replace rear brakes

no, 12mm wrench or ratchet on 12mm socket. the piston is tough to push back in. its a twist in type and you will need some force to push and twist the piston back in. - note rear brake pads wearing out on the new 08-09 accords are very common and if under 16-18 thousand miles it may be covered. honda knows about this problem

Dodge avenger 2008

It depends on who you go to and if you want it done right. I went to the Dealership and had them put front brakes on my 2008 Dodge Avenger and it has been in the shop every 2-4 months since then for front brakes. They replaced the entire front brake system and my 08 Avenger is still eating brakes. I finally took it to a friend who owns a auto repair shop he replace the rotors which are total about 115.00 for each from AutoZone and replaced the brake pads for 50.00 so it cost me just parts 155.00 and my Avenger is running smoothly since haven't had problems with the brakes since. Go to Midas and let them change it for roughly 89.00 avoid the dealership at all cost they can run 200.00-500.00 depending on if it is just the brakes pads or if it is the rotors and pads.
