Hi,

You need to check that your bikes charging system is working, put a voltmeter acoss the battery and if you are not getting above 12.75 volts you have a charging problem.

Check you have enough oil in the engine and that it is up to the correct mark. If not top it up this should make the light go out.

If oil level is ok then pull the oil pressure switch wire of the pressure switch and check if the light has gone of, if it has then you need to replace your oil pressure switch.

If the light stays on after you pull the wire off then you have got a short circut to earth which is causing the oil to stay on.

In some case's though if the alternator is not charging then this light will stay on also and wont go off till the alternator starts charging.

So check your charging first.

Let me know if you need more information

Thanks

Jason

Why is battery draining ford 2002 Taurus SES

Remove negative cable from battery, connect a test light to negative terminal, opposite end off light to negative battery post. ( let sit for 3 to 5 minutes). Then start pulling fuses, when the light goes out that's your bad circuit. God-Bless! Its worth a try.

New battery keeps going dead when car shut off overnight

Sounds like a slow drain - like a dome light or short in the wiring.
If the battery stays charged when it is disconnected, you'll have to check for a power drain in the car.

When you shut the car off something is staying on in the vehicle, causing a current draw on the battery, causing it to go dead over night. something that would cause this would be like a under the hood light, trunk light, interior light staying on. visually check it. and if you don't find anything you might want to buy a fluke/ volt meter, to check for unwanted current draw when the vehicle is off. your local mechanic could help. it could become more extensive then this but most likely not by the sounds of it.

Battery keeps going dead. Battery and alternator tested OK.

possibly a draw on something maybe a light stays on when you park it..? gloive box light ,door light could be a lot of things if you put a test light between the ground cable and the battery and hook up the positive battery cable ther should be very little to no light ifit is bright then you have someting drawing power

My battery keeps dying but its not the alternater

Being you ruled out the alternator as a cause for the battery dieing, i would start looking into the parasitic draw on your battery when the car is shut off, make sure all your courtesy lights are going off and that none of them are staying on overnight, check your glove box light and make sure thats going off and not saying on, another overlooked item would be your trunk light, make sure the light in the trunk is in fact going off as you close the trunk, if any of these lights are staying on it will drain the battery and cause it to be dead the next morning....

Traction control system light stays on even when it is sitting still. Electronic Stability program light continues to stay on. The battery keeps going dead on the truck when I try to start it up.

Hi
check the switch for the traction control, it sounds like a bad earth or poor contact, also check the battery lead from the car battery to the car body. ensure it has a good contact to the car body.

Battery keep going dead, has new battery

Have you checked to see if the alternator is charging ? Run a volt meter on the battery with the engine running, have to have more than 14 volts. If 13 or less, then replace the alt.

Battery keeps draining and brake lights stay on

the brake pedal switch is the most likely cause for your problem. This would keep the lights from going out and this would cause the battery to go dead.
