How much frame modification on the 2001 suzuki rm 125 engine to the 1993 suzuki rm 250 frame. would it be a lot of work and how many hours?

    just was gonna get a good deal on a 2001 motor thats all. But yeah seems like mor work than I want to do thanks you were very helpful

Hi mate,
Suzuki completely revamped the RM in 2001. Frame and motor are completely different to the nineties model. It would be alot of work, and hard to estimate the hours. How much time do you have? All the ignition/exhaust hardware will need to be changed out also. New models using different gear. Mounting for more than just the motor required. Proly take you at least week to chop and swap... then may not be any good to ride anyways

Any reason you are going this way??

Modifying the frame If really needed Should be avoided as any bending or altering of design and re-welding could cause issue with frames stability, i am sure you can pickup an RM Frame pretty cheap.

The bike has a bent shift fork (or two). The engine needs to come out of the frame then gets torn down in order to replace the forks. Sorry.

Will a 1994 125 gearbox fit a 2003 rm 125
It is highly unlikely the gearbox will mount in a 2003 frame without modifications. The crankcase part number for the '94 is 43860. The '03 number is 36890. Nine years is a wide span and many changes have taken place. Sorry.
