On the monsters it is under the tank, likely in the same position on the 1098

Battery tender question

that usually means the battery is at a full charge and the tender automatically turns off to keep from damaging and over charging the battery. Or you dont have the tender connected directly to the battery.

Ducati ST3 Battery tender says it is charged but still won't trn over

Get out your fluke meter and read what the voltage does when you try and crank. Just because the tender says "charged" doesn't mean the battery doesn't have sulfated cells and is effectively shot. Go there first. Also, try a jump start from another battery.

Where is the connector for the battery tender on a Harley Davidson 2008 FLHX (Streetglide)?

You have to put the connector on the battery. When you purchase the Battery tender, it comes with a "pig tail". You put the pig tail on the battery and run it to an inconspicous place. When you finish your ride, plug the battery tender in. Now, if you bought a bike with the tender already on it. Look closely around the edge of the seat for the connector. If you can't find it, you'll have to access the battery and follow the wires to the connector end.

Good Luck

MY 2002 FORD T-BIRD WAS IN STORAGE FOR 6 MONTHS WITH A BATTERY TENDER. IT WON'T START, JUST CRANKS.THIS HAPPENED LAST YEAR. IT FINALLY STARTED AFTER ABOUT 1000 ATTEMPTS. LAST YEAR WE HAD NOT USED A BATTERY...

I've got an old corvette that I store also. I basically disconnect the battery and when I'm ready I charge it for 3 hrs, then start the car. Usually get close to 6 and a half years out of a battery. Five ain't so bad.

Is it the red and black wire under the front of the fairing above the guard the one to put a trickel charger on or is it somewhere else

Did you buy the bike new or used? Ducati didn't put wires there or anyplace for a battery tender. They want you to buy a new battery. The previous owner may have. You will have to take off the left side panel, hook up your own cables to the battery and run them to a spot recommended by the tender maker. I have a list here of good ones and bad ones. Battery minder by VTC electronics, Or VDC, I can't quite make out the print. These are supposed to be the best, Deltrans are no good and yuasa's burn out in one year, Check it out.

How to reach the battery on 696 monster ducati, and install charger.

Under gas tank cover

First get a 3 mm hex key and remove all the side panel screws and remove the screws that hold the cover around the gas filler cap, and remove the two plastic side panels. After the screws are out the side panels the panels slide forward and will come out. There are two hex screws (size ?) that have to be removed to release the fuel tank. One is under the tank and is accessed from the rear with about a 1 foot extension for the hex bit. The other is on the front rt side and is quite obvious. There is enough fuel hose on the tank that you can simply prop-up the front of the tank with a piece or wood or anything convenient and get access to the battery. I put battery tender leads on my 696. Hardest part is removing all the small screws that hold the side panels and cover for the fuel tank.

Is there a plug in for a trickle charger on the 2001 monster 750/? my battery dies all the time

Battery Tender makes multiple charger for this exact purpose. You will have to connect terminals to your battery & place connector in a an acessable place. I have one on my 900SS. Works great.

Battery Trouble! Ducati 749 dark

you need to get a battery tender, and when you put your new battery in it has connections that will stay on your battery and you just plug it in after you are done riding and cleaning her. oh one more thing when you get a new battery you need to charge it for 8 to 12 hours before using it, they are not like a car battery buy it, put it in, and go, you have to charge them up first. The tender should keep you battery charge all winter long. I hope this helps you. One more thing, 749's do not like weak batteries as you have found out. Buy a new one, install a tender and and use it, the battery will last much longer.
