You can tell by the way it runs, if it won't start, the choke is probably off. If it runs choppy, it is probably on. Is it on the yoke or the handle bars?Either way, pull is on, and push is off.. Hope this helps.

My rgt 125 got a heat seize replaced piston and rings sleeve ok the bike will not start ,when starting it backfires ,could timing be out? if so how do you check this?

I'd change the plugs, and clean out the carbs (and double check that everythings good in them, like the needle in the right position, diaphram has no holes, and the valves all move and don't stick). Then on mine I'd make sure it's wired right, if that's a 2 stroke i don't know.

Bought 1985 RG 250, the 2 stroke oil has been disconnected, whats the best way to make sure it is working properly before I reconnect?

you will need to bled the pump. look for the bolt with a crush washer on it. fill your tank and remove the bolt the oil will start to come out make sure it comes out with no bubbles. as far the cable adj. you should get manual with out seeing it i would hate to tell you one thing and it not be right. I have gt 250 and the pump timing was an odd one. http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/suzu/suzuki_rg250%2086.htm

1983 rg 250 gamma mk1 import would only run with choke on now wont start at all?

Hi,
Your plugs are probably dripping with an unburnt gas mixture/residue if you've ridden the bike any serious distance with the choke on.

Change your plugs, don't just clean them, Change Them...

Check your idle jet in your carb. Clean it, carefully.

Good Luck and Let me know...

It fails to start now when i got it it went fine but it has sat around for the last 3,4 years it started a while ago but only in one port the left side didn't fire over.

The oil seals are gone - so the crankcase isn't pressure tight and thus no pressure to force the fuel-oil mix into the cylinder.
3-4 years is a long time to leave a two-stroke idle... your tyres are likely to be shot as well...

1982 suzuki gsx 250 not revving over 5000rpm

usually when surging like that happens there is a vacuum leak where the carbs are attached to the heads check the rubber rings that hold the carbs on to see if they are cracked if so then replace them and that should solve your problem
