Hi guy my kawasaki zxr400 is backfiring and not starting after l changed the CDI pliz help

Hi, Lyrical you may have your timing too far retarded the supplement manual I provided in your first question did not cover CDI timing but it was free you need a base manual that will cost $10 to download and why did you change the CDI in the first place? use the comment box below to respond For this situation I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. Whats the firing order for a 1990 Kawasaki 600 zx ninja.

The ZX6, as with most four-cylinder motorcycle engines, is mounted transversely in the frame. When sitting on the bike, the cylinders are numbered 1-2-3-4 left to right.

Firing Order: the firing order is 1-2-4-3. There is no distributor for the engine, as ignition is controlled electronically.

Extra Ignition Information: there are only two ignition coils for this engine. Each coil has two spark plug wires. One coil fires cylinders 1 and 4. The other fires cylinders 2 and 3

Adjusting time chain tension

Its possible your tensioner is worn out , this could be detrimental to your engine.
Best advise would be order new unit from Cradleys Kawasaki UK and get a qualified bike mechanic to fit.

I have a zxr400 with a flatspot between 4@6

Bent needles can cause horrible throttle response. Start by installing a new needle that way you know its not the problem. If your carbs have rubber diaphrams make sure they arent ripped.
