Two things: First make sure there is some free play in the throttle cable. The twist grip should have a small amount of free-play, just a fraction of a turn, before the throttle actually begins to open. On the throttle cable, up near the handlebar, is a free-play adjuster.
Second, verify that the throttle cable is routed correctly. Confirm this by referring to the owner's manual for your Honda.
Both of these items are absolutely critical for correct and safe operation.

Kawazaki kdx 125 wont start

KICK HARDER TRY PULL STARTING IT..IN SECOND GEAR..DOES IT HAVE ENOUGH COMPRESSION TO START?IT SHOULD START PULLING IT...START OFF WITH NO THROTTLE THAN IF NOT STARTING CRACK THE THROTTLE SO LIGHTLY AND SHE SHOULD FIRE OFF WHILE IN GEAR BEING PULLED OF COURSE BE CARE FUL NOT TO RUN INTO. WHO EVERS PULLING YOU..USE A LONG TOW ROPE..IF YOUR NOT A SEASONDED RIDER AND KNOW YOUR BIKE VERY WELL I WOULD NOT ATTEMPT THE PULL START...IF NOT CHECK YOUR COMPRESSION AND TIMING..MAJOR VACUUM LEAK MAYBE AT BASE GASKET..IS ENGINE SUCKING TO MUCH AIR? GOOD LUCK..

I have a YZ 250 2007 model : Problem when riding for about 15 minutes the bike seems to accelerate whilst i have not wound the throttle on. If i hit the kill switch and re kick the bike it is fine. i

i would agree with your thought If you have a can of starting fluid spray aroun the intake while the bike is running if you have a leak the engine rpm will encrease.

My honda cr125, had it runny fine the other day until it ran out of fuel, i have now put fuel in it but it is not starting off the kick start, i can jump start it but as soon as i pull the throttle it cuts...

I don't know if this bike has a filter from the tank but running it dry causes the **** in the tank to block the filter. rinse the tank, replace filter and try then. The bike would probably start with a dirty filter but if you accelerate the demand is bigger than supply. Probably too much air and it dies.

I have just rebuilt my 1996 honda cr 250 and it will not start

Check to see that there is gas in the float bowl, check to see that you have spark, if you have compression it will start. You will need to kick the bike at a kind of fast kick. Full choke no throttle! if no, then turn choke off and hold throttle cracked and kick. No? Pull start with quad. lol. Chaz Moto DC

if the oil is grey and kind of like a milkshake, that means you have either water or coolant in the oil. if you didn't sink it or ride it through deep water, you possibly could have a blown head gasket or a bad crank seal in your motor allowing coolant to get in the crank. that could lead to the power loss and stalling of the bike. run a compression test first to see if your rings are bad. then a leakdown test to see which seal or gasket is bad.

Sounds like its starving for fuel. When the engine stops, instantly turn the fuel valve (at the tank) off. Then ck if the carburetor has any fuel in the float bowl.

I need 2 know how much engine oil i need for my honda cr125.

If it doesn't have a dipstick or a sight glass window on the kick starter side you will find a srew / bolt on the case usually lower front right near the rear foot brake unsrew that then put your oil in the filler hole when oil comes out of the hole you took the screw/bolt out of you are full I have an 01 and thats the way it is or 650cm of oil

try sprayin some wd40 around the bore in carb some times it gets a bit of dust in and that tends to make the slide stick and be sure t sprar out the port were the float needle goes and if that dont work take it out again and check the float pin it could have been bent at some stage ok mate
