It maybe something as simple as your carbs have gone out of sync as 1&2 are balanced together and 3&4 then both sides are brought together by an adjuster in the middle, you cant just guess this you will need guages to do this.
Hope that's all this problem is as anything else could be expensive however these engines are fairly bullet proof.

Hope this helps

Testimonial: "thanks ,,was told the same by a mate of mine, although my cbr is injection , but i imagine they also have to be sync,,thanks for the help ."

What does white smoke coming from exhaust of a 01 'suzuki gsxr 1000 mean when starting only?

For motorcycles with 4-stroke engines: The white smoke from the exhaust means that the engine oil is leaking into the combustion chamber where the petrol burns. ... This eventually means that you have to get your piston changed along with the piston rings that prevent the engine oil leaking into the combustion chamber.

I had the car compleletly serviced((2years ago) I have not put 100 miles on the odomitor, Oil is steal clean. I dont drive the 98 740IL it sits in the drive way connected to the battery charger. starts...

Oil will collect condensation if left sitting for a few days and even more if sitting for longer periods. Engines are meant to run and not to sit doing nothing. Moister will collect on the upper part of the engine componets easier were oil does not stay. Run to engine for at least 15 minutes per day or until the temp range is at the normal setting. After a week or so the ticking noise maybe gone hopefully. If not a weak lifter is most likely the problem

Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 (not FI) funky sound after shut down

Hi, Yes it is an electric fuel pump and the ticking is the pump working. So if you hear the ticking your pump should be OK. After turning off the petcock and running the carbs dry the next time you turn it back on you should leave the kill switch on and turn the key on and wait till the ticking stops, turn the key off and back on and wait for the ticking to stop again. You should do this a couple of times to make sure the system fills. Normally you should always use your kill switch to turn off your engine. Also under normal conditions you will not hear the ticking as it only ticks a couple of times to fill the system once it is full. Good Luck to you, This should Fixya!

Engine nois

usually louder when the engine is first fired up.If I crack the throttle a bit the noise will disapear and may or may not reappear? The tick seems to go away at higher RPM's(above 2000).The noise is loudest at the exaust pipe and not so noticeable as I move my ear towards the crankcase.Anyone with suggestions or similar experiences? Just pray it isn't a camchain or the tensioner. Benelli has had issues with them in the past. I just thought I could hear a Tititititit from mine this morning. Not good.,
