Question about 2006 Honda CBR 125 R

3 Answers

Only 1 headlight bulb lit? Just bought a used 2008 Honda CBR125R in Canada from the Honda dealer. I noticed only 1 headlight bulb lit ('passenger side' half) They said that regular headlights only one side it lit and both for hi-beams. Is this right? Seems a bit odd. There is no owner manual with this bike. Thanks!

That sounds right, Check the plugs on the bulbs to see for sure. The passenger side one should have three prongs and the other should only have two. Good luck

Both bulbs should be lit all the time. The low beam has blown in one of your bulbs. Not hard to change, however you might find it fun the first time round.

To change the bulb you need to remove the four star screws holding the plastic covers either side of the clocks (One each side at the top of the screen and one each side straight down into the nose fairing). Next remove the two 10mm bolts holding the clocks. Raise the clocks a few inches until you can unscrew the speedo cable and then move the clocks to one side. Pull back the rubber boot on the headlight and feel for a spring loaded catch. the bulb and holder should now come out with a little bit of fiddling and jiggling.

2006 Honda CBR 125 R headlights flicker while driving

Hi, Anonymous if your headlight is not working, only one beam works, keeps burning out, blinking, dim or surges from bright to dim to bright the first thing you need to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, then check your head light bulb socket ground wire for a clean tight connection, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply wire to headlight bulb socket.
2. Worn down solder contacts or loose fit of the bulb base in the socket due to vibration.
3. Worn, chaffed, or broken wires in the light circuit.
4. Corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets in wire connectors.
5. Faulty hi/lo beam switch.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
8. Faulty headlight relay.
9. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.
10. Weak charging alternator/generator/lighting coil.
11. Faulty voltage regulator/rectifier ground or overcharging.

2008 honda cbr125r the head lights on my cbr change from one side to the other pending on high or low beam is this normal or should they both be on at the same time?

The high and lo beam even on an Africa Twin are made separate so it dose not overload the charge manager of your bike. I tried wireing both of the bulbs in paralel and ended up burnig my battery charging unit.

So in conclusion they should not be on at the same time. The headlights operate fine on your bike.

2006 Honda CRV Passenger both Low & High beams out (bulbs good)

Well I suspect that you may have developed a problem in what's called the Multiplex unit. It's an integral part of the fuse box in Honda CR-V's. It's possible that the cargo trailer caused the problem by causing too much current to be drawn thru the system, I have a similar problem with my 2002 Honda CR-V and have been told I need to replace the multiplex unit and they are quite expensive. You may have to bite the bullet and have it checked by your nearest Honda Dealer.
