Question about 2006 Harley Davidson FXDBI Street Bob
The other morning when i left work everything seemed fine. when i was coming up to the stop sign as soon as i pulled the clutch in to downshift my motorcycles idle dropped drastically. as long as i kept cracking the throttle it stayed running. when i got home after running slower speeds the bike idled fine. i changed the spark plugs thinking they were just getting worn out. they were fine and when i started it up, i heard a pop like a backfire. i put it up in my shed and havent touched it since because i am afraid if i go for a long ride i will be stranded somewhere. i was just wondering if this is a fuel issue or something electrical. i would like to have an idea before i take it in to get it serviced. my motorcycle is a 2006 harley-davidson dyna street bob. thanks for your time and i will look forward to hearing from you.
Hello. It may just be that your engine is a bit gunky after the winter. Do this. Go to any auto parts store and get a bottle of a fuel additive called seafoam. Pour it into the gas tank and then top off with fuel. Take it for a ride. As you ride along you will hear the engine sounding better and better. This alone should fix your problem. Joe
