The problem could be either of two things. the starter solenoid or the starter relay. The solenoid should not be giving a problem on a bike this new unless it's been started a LOT of times. I have a '94 FXDWG with almost 30K miles on it and the starter works fine but you never know. I would be more apt to think the starter relay might be bad. The relay is a one inch black plastic cube located somewhere on your bike. On the Softail it's on the front side of the rear fender down low beneath the oil tank. I do not know where it is on your Road Glide, sorry. They usually costs about $12 here. If you can, get the one with the "shield" on it to help keep water out of the unit. I hope this fixes your bike if not repost with the results you found.

If it clicks, then it is getting power from the switch to the starter solenoiod. So if you know the battery is fully charged, then the problem is either one of the battery cables or connections, or the starter itself is defective.`.

I am failing to start my Toyota 2ct with ignition but only start on push

cHECK THE STARTER, IS BATTERY FULLY CHARGED. The fact that it starts with a push suggests that the battery or starter is at fault.
Is the alternator charging the battery? When fully charged does the starter crank over quickly.
If the engine runs fine then it is almost certainly one of the above

Hyosung GV 650 wont start. Battery is fully charged and starter don't even click when trying to start?

This will be either the starter solenoid is faulty or the starter motor needs replacing.Have the solenoid checked before removing the starter motor.

Wont start

If your battery is fully charged it sounds like you have a starter issue. The solenoid is clicking but the starter motor is fried.

When I try to start my 04 fatboy it clicks but wouldn't start.

This could be your battery, even if it is charged to 12 volts sometimes they go bad and don't have the cranking AMPS needed to fully engage the starter drive. Try another battery you know is good or if you know how to jump it from another battery try that, if the syarter works you know it is the battery

Sounds like the starter is dragging, when the bike gets hot the starter barely turns. And those bikes don't actually have an alternator. It's like a magneto system that keeps the battery from draining, but doesn't actually charge the battery. I would take the starter off and have it tested.

It's the is not keeping your battery charged. You can remove it and take it to a local parts store and they will test it for free.

My suzuki won't start with a new battery? what should I check next? There is power to the lights and it isn't turning over. There is clicking in a relay but I don' t know what it is.

It may seem odd but make sure that new battery is fully charged and giving proper voltage and amperage. If that is taken care of check that relay with a simple 12 volt test light to see if the battery voltage is going thru both sides of the relay to the starter, if so then go to the starter wire coming from the relay and see if there is voltage at the starter when you push the start button, if there is power there your problem is probably in the starter motor itself. Be sure to put in a new fuse in the little fuse block, it may sound strange but fuses can look good but be slightly burrned at an end and allow a little power though but not enough to start the engine.
Good luck, Les

Good After noon I purchased a ford tarus lx and I seem to have a problem starting the car I don know if the starter. because every time I turn the key it would start please help

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

There are two things that can cause a no start issue. A faulty battery and a worn out starter. As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you charge your battery for if it's weak it won't have enough power to push the starter.

If charging the battery still doesn't resolve the problem then the problem will be the starter itself. Starter replacement is surely recommended.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

My mini has a fully charged battery but wont turn over it wont jump start but will bump start help

If the battery is fully charged and it will not turn over but will start if you push it, they it is safe to assume the starter may be bad. But before removing the starter and having it tested make sure all the wiring at the starter is connected and not loose. Also check the connections at the battery and clean them throughly. Check the battery cables for swelling or or cuts. After you clean the battery connections and are sure all cables are good and connections are tight then remove the starter and take it to an auto parts store for testing.
