There should be a drain plug on the trailing side of the slider. Some have cross point screwdriver heads on the plug others have allen or hex head plugs. Remove the plug and work the forks up and down. If all fails, you can remove the entire tube and turn it upside down.

You have to remove the top fork nuts and then drain through the lower drain screw on each fork slider. fill through the top of the forks. be careful the inner springs of the fork tube are under compression when you remove and replace the fork top nuts. installing the fork nuts will take two people due to the spring compression needed. check your shop manual for proper amt of fluid need for each fork tube.

you do have to be able to jack up the motorcycle and secure it to relieve the pressure on the front end to change out the fork fluid.

SOURCE: how do i change the front fork oil in my 06 dyna

their is a Philip screw on the bottom of your fork remove it...and baby its in tight! some times its just easier to fit some vise grips on it. Will mar the screw head. But you can buy another one at HD..then unscrew the top of the fork. It takes a special tool or use a 1 inch wrench..Not common is average joe toolbox. Then you need to put 30 weight fork oil in ur bike. I dont have the amount off the top of my head i always look in service manual.

remove the drain plug from the oil pan, you will need either a 3/4" box wrench or a 5/8" box wrench and the drain plug will be facing forward on the the oil pan. It is easiest to remove this drain plug from under the right side of the bike. put drain plug back in after about 10 m,inutes of drain time and tighten to 18 ft. lbs. Dont forget to change the oil filter as well.

SOURCE: where is the drain plug on a 2004 dyna lowrider?

The oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission. Two drain plugs. The center one is the transmission drain, the one towards the front on the left side is engine oil drain.

Want to no how the front forks come apart so i can change my seals 2000 dyna FXD supergliud do the middle caps popoff so i can pound the bottom of the forks off.

Whoa, wait a minute. You don't "pound" on anything on your forks. Once you get the tube off, take the top cap off, drain the oil out of it, and look on the lower end where the axle came out, you'll find a socket head bolt. Take that bolt out and the fork tube slides right out of the fork slider. Go to http://www.bikebandit.com and look up your bike under the OEM parts section. You should be able to find an "exploded view" of your fork assembly.

Good Luck

Where is the oil plug located on a 2005 Harley FXR?

I didn't think Harley made the FXR anymore. I thought they discontinued that bike in 1999 or so. But, just in case, the FXR's oil tank was under the seat. The drain was located at the bottom of the tank on the left side of the bike under the triangluar shaped frame insert.

Now if the bike is and FXD Dyna Super Glide, the oil tank is on the bottom of the transmission. Under the transmission, there are two drain plugs, one is located near the center of the oil pan and this is the transmission drain plug. The engine oil drain plug is located towards the left front of the oil pan. Drain the oil with the bike on the side stand.

To determine the exact model of your bike, search the Internet for the "Harley alphabet" You should be able to find a site that helps you decode your serial number (VIN#) to determine the exact model of your bike.

Good Luck
