Question edited for clarity, changed 'carbonator', (a thing that puts bubbles in soda) to a carburetor (a device that atomises gasoline).
The new battery is fine, in fact 6 amps is better. It has more staying power and will start the bike easier in cold weather. It is better for your lighting as well. The problem is likely to be that your battery is not fully charged when you got it. Put it on a 2 amp battery charger for 8 hours.
These two adverts have 4 amp and 7 amp as suitable.
Check oil level, if ok remove spark plug and crank engine. If it spins then likely "starter stall" due to valve lash out of tolerance. BS OHV engines require periodic adjustment of the valves.
If oil level is excessively high then likely engine has hydro-locked... the cylinder(s) are full of oil/fuel due to a stuck carburetor float.
If the bike has been sitting for 5 years the battery will be dead lights working does not mean it is good, fit a new one.A hydrometer is a good and cheap tool to check individual cells of a battery.about £7 or $12? from auto store.Allso carefully check and sand all earth cables ,and check cut out switches ,maybe on side stand
As for the oil level if you have no dip stick you may have a sight glass on the side of the engine, stand bike upright, put wood under the sidestand on level surface,be very carefull not to drop it, leave to settle .if level correct the oil will be half way up the glass.
if this does not help call back.
Try checking the water in the battery and see if the connections are clean. This requires removing the ends and sanding them. Also check oil level in the motor just in case. Then charge the battery or jump-start it, if it starts then you have a weak battery or an alternator that is bad or a loose wire, the nuts will vibrate off if blades are out of balance. Also check the starter bolts as they may have come loose as well. If you still need help replay tothe e-mial this came with. Avid
The battery for your bike is # YTX5L-BS . This is available @ your Yamaha dealer for $ 56.84. Or you could cross reference that # to another manufacturer.
