Ford had a shut off switch only. It is a saftey design Fors had for decades and no other Car maker has this option as of yet
Yours will have a fuel pump fuse, a relay to the pump. an oil sensor that is runs the fuel pump only upon starting up the engine and shuts off upon when the engine reaches normal oil pressure. When the sensor shuts off the fuel pump relay takes over until the engine is shut off. When you turn the key to the on position you will hear the fuel pump working inside the fuel tank. No need to turn the key to the start position only to the on position. If the pump is not working you have either a bad fuel pump or a oil pressure sensor. If you do hear it pumping for 5 seconds the engine should fire and die out telling you the relay or pump is bad
There is no fuel shut off switch on the Chevy Blazer, check your fuses and the relay to your fuel pump. If all checks out good, then it's going to be a bad fuel pump sending unit or it may be a simple wire harness that may be damaged due to corrosion.
On the drivers side , under the hood is your fuse center. Under the lid is a diagram with the location of the relays, and fuses. These vehicles have their share of fuel pump failures which is what I would expect rather than a relay problem. I hope this helps you.
Thank you for using fixya.
The fuel pump shut-off switch is
located in the driver's foot well,
behind the kick panel. The reset
button for the fuel pump shut-off
switch is accessible through an
opening in the kick panel.
Use the following procedure to reset the fuel pump shut-off switch.
1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
2. Check the fuel system for leaks.
3. If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the fuel pump shut-off switch by
pushing in on the reset button.
4. Turn the ignition to the RUN position. Pause for a few seconds and
return the key to the OFF position.
5. Make a further check for leaks in the fuel system.
The fuel pump inertia switch button will be flush with the switch housing when activated. Just need to depress the switch till you hear a click. You can also test the switch by giving it a sharp tap with your hand. It'll trip the switch when you do.
FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH
If the engine cranks but does not start after a collision, the fuel pump
shut-off switch may have been activated. The ''Fuel Reset'' indicator light
will illuminate in the instrument cluster. The shut-off switch is a device
intended to stop the electric fuel pump when your vehicle has been
involved in a substantial jolt.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Check the fuel system for leaks.
3. If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the fuel pump shut-off switch by
pushing in the button on the switch.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Pause for a few seconds
and return the key to the OFF position.
5. Make a further check for leaks in the fuel system.
