Problem with BMW 2004 R 1150 RT (ABS)
overheated (3 hours gridlocked traffic), now pinging
Got a jumpstart after stalling in gridlocked traffic; new battery the next day. Bike is now rough, pings, and backs off going downhill. What likely happened and what fixes should I put in place? David Youst
Solutions (1)
put a multi meter on the battery, and check that the voltage when the bike is running is higher than when the bike is stopped, it may have spiked the regulator when jumped. I fit was jumped off a car the alternator tries to put out enough current to charge the car and this can stress the system
