Check that its not just the gear pedal either stuck or spinning round on its shaft.
If not then its probably the gear selector mechanism - hopefully on the accessible part. Remove the right-hand engine cover & check that the shift shaft operates the claw (which turns the gear selector drum) & that all springs etc are OK. Otherwise its on the internal part of the selector mechanism which will require a full engine strip

Good Luck
Hope this helps.

This is normal for Kawasaki's...2nd won't engage until the gearbox output shaft is turning fast enough to locate the centrifugal lockout bearing. This is to make it easier to find neutral at a standstill...

2006 Ford Explorer shifts hard between 2nd & 3rd gears, both up & down, but shifts normal between 1st & 2nd, and in & out of overdrive. All was normal then almost not working the next

It sounds as though your valve body may have a lot of particulates that have entered into it causing the valves to act sluggishly. Unfortunately, this is a condition that can only be taken care of by your mechanic and is not something that the average person can fix themselves.

What are the gears on the ax 100 i cant remember please help as i cant drive i forget the gears thanks

The standard shift pattern is "one down-four up" with neutral between 1st and 2nd gear. Your bike may only have four gears. Please rate my answer. Thanks. tombones49_113.gif

When i shift into 2nd gear it either goes right into 3rd or into neutral or into neutral then back to first... whats wrong

The shift shaft limit pin under the clutch may be bent otherwise something may be bent or worn in the gearbox.
