I have a Roper RGX 5634 PQO When cool dryer will fire first time. You can hear it trying to fire after but it never will. If you let it coll about an hour it will fire again (once.) I am thinking it is in the thermostats. Am I on the right track?

You may want to do a thorough tuneup on your dryer. I worked on a couple and wrote a pictorial on it. ROPER DRYER TUNE-UP My Home movie of a Roper dryer with a heat problem:
Remove all duct work connected to this dryer. Clean thoroughly. You will find amass of lint inside of it causing your problem. If not the moister sensor is not working properly and needs to be replaced.
I do hope you will find a clogged vent tube for it is easier to clean the tube than to replace the sensor. The sensor is a fail safe part. It keeps the dryer from catching on fire when the lint tube is clogged up
you motor on the dryer is going out. all of the motors used in dryers and washers have a thermatic protection switch so if the motor heats up too much it will shut itself off to prevent fire. once the motor has cooled down it will restart until it reaches that set temp. in the motor then it shuts down again. You will need to replace this motor
If the motor is running you likely have something caught in the pump. The fins in the pump hitting something will make funny sounds. Brand and Model number always helps.
Silly ? but have you tryed the out let to be sure it has power, how about the breaker box. Flip the breaker back and forth a few times. some times they will look on but are on the very edge of goin off. I hope this works. you dident give me much to go on. Good luck DFD
You have a thermal overtemp sensor that has failed, they are located in maybe two spots, but the diagram on the dryer should show you where they are.
Most can be jumped over with a jumper wire, some are resistive devices that send back a signal based on changing temp and resistance, but most can simply be jumper across from one side to the other, and if stays on, there is your problem, for a gas valve to fire, and then go off, it is either a thermocouple device with pilot, or one of those overtemp devices I mentioned. If the valve was bad it would not light at all, so it is one of those devices not the timer, not the board, not the anything it is an overtemp or thermocouple device.
