Open the both doors on the affected side , and swing open and close if you hear sloshing you may just have a blocked drain hole in the doors, if you hear nothing then check the rubber seals on doors and trunk , if seals are ok and no water in door I'd see if the rear washer line has broken , air con freeze could be an issue but would be more to the front than rear
Most likly the drain hose for the aircon is dislocated or is blocked up. If upon inspection you find hose still connected then a low preasure air inject into hose may unblock. If you can get a venturi suction on the hose that will extract. some form of vacume pump will do the same. Best to extract any blockage if you can as it will only re-occour
I had this same problem. I removed the aircon controller from the dash and found two dry solder joints on the back of the main circuit board. I resoldered these and it fixed the problem.
Hi are you sure its to do with your air con, normally when your carpet gets wet it means your heater matrix has burst, thats always been my experience. hope this helps thanks John.
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield.
2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
3. Use J 38185 in order to position aside the heater hose inlet and outlet clamps at the heater core.
4. Disconnect the inlet and outlet heater hose from the heater core.
5. Remove the RH Instrument Panel Closeout/Insulator panel.
6. Remove the LH Instrument Panel Closeout/Insulator panel
7. Remove the floor carpet.
8. Remove the rear floor air outlet duct from the holes in the floor reinforcement.
9. Disconnect the rear floor air outlet duct from the heater air outlet cover.
10. Remove the rear floor air outlet duct.
11. Remove the heater air outlet cover screws (2).
12. Remove the heater air outlet cover heat stakes (1) with a small chisel.
13. Remove the heater air outlet cover from the HVAC module assembly.
14. Remove the heater core cover screws (2).
15. Remove the heater core cover heat stakes (1) with a small chisel.
16. Remove the heater core cover from the HVAC module assembly.
17. Remove the heater core from the HVAC module assembly.
18. Remove the heater core foam seal (1) from the HVAC module assembly
Raise and safely support the front of the vehicle.
If necessary, remove the rear lateral transaxle strut mount.
Detach the drain tube, then disconnect the heater hoses from the core tubes.
Carefully lower the vehicle.
Remove the console if equipped.
Unfasten and remove the sound insulators, console extensions and/or steering column filler, as required.
On some models it may be necessary to remove the steering column opening filler.
Remove the floor or console outlet ductwork and hoses.
Remove the heater core access cover.
Unfasten the heater core mounting clamps/bolts, then extract the heater core from the vehicle.
To install:
Install the heater core, then secure using the clamps/bolts.
Fasten the heater core cover.
Connect the outlet hoses and ducts.
Install the sound insulators, console extensions and/or steering column filler.
Raise and safely support the vehicle.
Install the drain tube and connect the heater hoses to the core tubes.
If removed, install the rear lateral transaxle strut mount, if removed.
Carefully lower the vehicle.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Fill cooling system and check for leaks. Start the engine and allow to come to normal operating temperature. Recheck for leaks and check coolant level. Add if necessary.
Some bubbling may be normal. If it is overheating there may be air in the system and the hot coolant is not reaching the sensor, if this is the case you should bleed air from the system.
Coolant: Service and Repair
ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT
1. Remove the radiator cap, the radiator drain plug and the rear heater unit drain plug (if equipped).
2. Drain the coolant into a container.
3. Flush the cooling system with water until all traces of color are gone.
4. Let the system drain completely.
5. Tighten the radiator drain plug and the rear heater unit drain plug (if equipped).
Caution:
^ The engine has aluminum parts that can be damaged by alcohol or methanol antifreeze. Do not use alcohol or methanol in the cooling system.
Use only ethylene-glycol-based coolant.
^ Use only soft (demineralized) water in the coolant mixture. Water that contains minerals will cut down on the coolant's effectiveness.
^ Engine coolant will damage paint. If engine coolant does get on a painted surface, rinse it off quickly.
6. Refer to the following chart and select proper mixture of the water and coolant.

7. Pour the coolant into the reservoir up to the FULL mark.
8. Tighten the radiator cap.
Caution: e If the coolant temperature becomes too high, stop the engine to prevent it from overheating.
9. Start the engine and let it idle until the cooling fan operates.
10. After engine warms up, perform the following steps.
1. Run the engine at 4,000 rpm for 1 minute.
2. Run the engine at idle for 1 minute.
3. Repeat steps (1) and (2) several times.
4. Turn on the main and rear heaters and verify that heat is coming from heater vents.
11. Stop the engine and wait until it is cool.
12. Inspect the coolant level. If it is low, repeat Steps 7-12.
13. Verify there is no coolant leakage.
my battery drain indicator lamp is lit on my 2000 Toyota Camary. i checked the battery and have 12.5 volts when not running and 14.5 volts when running with lights & heater on. since all my other gauges are working ok i'm not sure if its a fuse or what fuse. can you help. altenator shows 14.5 volts when running.
It could be it depends on weather it is loosing coolant if yes then its coolant If not and coolant dosent move then you have either a w/screen leak or a leak from grill at the bottom of w/screen,, but thats only when it rains If it leaks on a dry day then its your HEATER CORE leaking
