My lawn mower will start but after a few minutes of cuting it stops and have to wait ten or fifteen minutes before starting again

check the lint filter.

Julie this sounds silly but try and run it with the exhaust and muffler removed. If it ticks over and then stops when it's engaged for a few minutes it sounds like its suffocating.

Try getting your transmission solenoid replaced. After I got mine replaced it ran fine after that. That's the exact same thing my Lumina was doing.

Make sure the gas cap is clean and vented

Your ignition coil is failing when it gets hot.make sure the cooling fins on the flywheel are not plugged up.you will probably have to replace the coil.

Very common problem on these cars. Do you have another key you can use? Try it. If not take the key ou have been using and turn ket to the on posistion. Leave it there on for ten to fifteen minutes. The computer will relearn the chip code on key. When light stops blinking you know it is done. Turn key to off wait ten to fifteen seconds and turn key to on position, Security light may blink once or twice then it should stop.. Try to start vehicle. It should start. If it doesn't then you may need whats called a new passlock and possibly key reprogramming. Which can only be done at the dealer most of the time. Hope car starts with the first procedure. Let me know if it works.

Try using non-ethanol gas. It's death on small engines. Starter fluid gives it a boost if higher octane. Have a reputable repair place clean out the gunk, then use good gas. Best of luck finding non-ethanol. Boating marinas carry it.

Mower stops running after mowing about 5 minutes. acting like it was running out of gas unitl eventually stops. I wait 10 minutes and then it restarts, runs good, then erratic...then quits again?

It sounds as though it is starved for fuel. Check the pinhole vent in the fuel filler cap. if it is plugged, the engine will still draw fuel, until a vacuum is pulled on the tank, resulting in no fuel. If this doesn't fix you. check for adequate fuel at the carb, and wirk either forward or backwards from that point, depending on what you find. I'm betting on the vent!

Try this,follow the positive battery to the part it's attached to,that's what is bad,remove it and take to Lowe's,they have one and it's not expensive.
