My '92 CBR900RR motor has 26000 miles and no leaks yet sounds like is compleetly empty of oil. Last run on freeway reached 95mph and would start dieing out but had fuel. Just does not run like a 900 more like a cb550. Have replaced rigrec, computer, throtle cables, coils. Heard it is a california motor with a restricted cam and once had emission controlls on it but the charcol can and other smog equip. were gone when i got it. I was considering a motor swap. Dont know what to do to make run like it should. If any ideas or suggestions i would be grateful and more than willing to take advice. Thank you
SOURCE: No power to fuel pump
this is a common proplem with these cars there are several relays that have to be engaged to make the pump come on there is one inparticular thats fails most commonly called the twinkie driverside by the strut tower its aluminum 1.5 in by 4in 5 to 7 wires coming out of it easily replaced message back after you try that if it doesnt work and i will advise on others

Hi, Your problem lies with the starter solenoid, although you maybe using a fully charged battery to jump it, it appears to be sticking or possibly faulty due to trying to start with poor battery.
The starter solenoid is usually located on or near the Battery compartment, it is cylindrical and has two heavy wires attached to it 1 goes to the starter motor the other to the battery. If you are carefull you can by pass the solenoid by touching the heavy wire going to the starter motor with the jumper lead. Make sure the jump battery is connected and both the NEGATIVE leads are well secure. Put the NEGATIVE lead from jump cable direct to a engine mount bolt or engine itself Not the battery.
There you are FixYa'd

SOURCE: white smoke both pipes when started minute later gone away
White smoke indicates water in the combustion chamber. If the bike is still running okay I would keep an eye on the coolant level, make sure you're not losing any. Best guess is a blown headgasket. You can do a leakdown test or a compression test to check. If your headgasket is blown, two adjacent cylinders should show lower compression since pressure will be leaking from one to the other.
That's the kind of thing that probably won't run for long. Be sure and keep an eye on your oil level too, if you happen to be leaking coolant into the oil you can dilute the oil to the point it no longer lubricates very well.
