Below 55dBmv TX is a lot better. Could be a bad service line. Also if you call the cable company and have them come out again. Have them put their DSAM meters on the house lines as well as the service tap and have them check for upstream ingress. a lot of things can cause this. It could be a loose fitting somewhere in the house. A t.v.'s shielding may be going out causing unwanted frequencies bleeding in and creating all kinds of noise on the upstream spectrum going back to the node. It could even be a neighbor causing this with their own equipment. If that's the case their maintenance techs should be able to find that.

Try doing a Trace Route on DOS ;

Open DOS - Start > click Run > type "cmd" = DOS

DOS COMMAND

tracert www.yahoo.com

IF THE RESULT WILL SHOW A " * " or timeouts then it is something to do with your line or if the response time is very high like 100ms 200ms 300ms then it is something to do with the line indeed ( normal = 1 ms - 50ms)

This is my modem log any ideas for a solution to my random DC's

The router actually has major issues. First, check the power cord to make sure that it's operating in the right voltage.

If it is, then through the command line type tracert followed by a website. If there is no response from the first address, then it will not detect the router.

If this happens, change the router.

Dear forum-freinds, I have Motorola cable modem type SB5101E. From a month ago up to now I can't use my cable Internet because it's been dropping connection after 5-9 minutes after restart. Nothing happens...

Hi,
If you say the lights are going out on the modem when it boots you off the network then the problem is your modem and not your internet connection, if the modem is new take it back and have them swap it for another one.

Cannot fax using epson bx300f

This response is a little late, but it's because you all appear to have something other than an Epson C86, under which your problems are listed! Eoromarts problem is super-generic. It could be due to hundreds of reasons ranging from "because I was in Blackpool at the time" to "my wife had borrowed the modem cable for a washing line". Come on, you need to give a lot more information than that!. McFax - your problem is simply not understandable please be much more specific!.

However, we may be able to help Stretchyd who has provided actual information on his problem. You cannot send faxes by Broadband. You need a good old-fashioned dial-up modem (which we all used to use to connect to the internet before broadband). You clearly have one of these, otherwise you wouldn't be able to receive faxes.

So you should have a cable from your Broadband modem to the phone line, going into the broadband (DSL) filter ADSL port. You should also have a cable running from your dial-up modem socket into the broadband filter phone port (you may also have a phone going into this, so you will need a phone socket doubler to take the phone wire and the dial-up modem wire).

So, to send a Fax, you need to run your Fax program (usually the Windows XP fax module) and set up your system for dialling out. If you need help with this post a new connebt.

My printer will not print documents

Yes definetely something wrong with the USB cable or the Device driver.
Please check in the Device Manager, for printer entries if not showing anything marked.
Also check the Event Viewer for any red cross entries in "System" and "Application" related to printers.
Please click >> Start >>Control Panel >> Administrator Tools >> click >> Event viewer in the event viewer click on application.

Good day.

Try to check first for the wiring connections from your cable modem to your TV . Then pull out the plug of your cable modem from the outlet. Leave it be for 5 mins and then plug again.
