How to increase top end speed - 2007 Kawasaki Ninja EX250R

I have a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja EX250R, it's a great little bike. I do alot of freeway driving and would like to increase it's top end speed/reduce RPMs. At 9,500-10,000 rpms it runs about 68 mph. It's currently geared with sprocket gears (14T-45T). What gearing configuration should I use to run comfortablly at 75-80mph?

You can change the sprockets. If you go to a 16 tooth front sprocket. two teeth on a front sprocket is like droping 4 teeth on the rear. You could drop 2 teeth on the rear sprocket but a 43 tooth is probably harder to find. the usual choices for front are 14,15,16 tooth.
For the rear they are 44,45,46 tooth

The way to remeber gearing changes is on REAR sprocket is smaller=faster and larger=slower top end.
the FRONT is OPPOSITE to the rear smaller=slower and bigger=faster.
You may have to lengthen or shorten the chain depending whjch way you go.

kawasaki ZX models are known for sub throttle valve issues. they will cause low top speed problems. FYI if the "emissions warranty" is not expired on your bike it may cover this. contact a dealer

I have a Kawasaki Ninja, ZX6r, 1997 F3. The bike starts great and rev's great when standing. At high rev's its as sweet as a nut. The problem seems to be when riding the bike and the revs are below 4,000....

There are adjustments on carbs for low speed air intake (air mixture screw)find out factory settings and reset that mixture.Sounds to me like those adjustments are out of sink.If so the bike will run very bad from idle to about 1/4 throttle then run great from there up to full throttle.this definitly sounds like carb problem.

I have a 2002 zx600e kawasaki , ninja. How do I remove the front tire to fix the speed assembly ?

You mean the front wheel? Get the bike supported high enough to get the wheel off, Pull the caliper, hang it up with a wire, pull the nut, pin, and a couple bolts on the fork bottom,? (some bikes) and drive out the axle, the speed control thing will fall right off, attached to the cable. Hope this helps.

Would just like to know the top book speed for a 1998 kawasaki 600 ninja please

about 159mph. Top speed depends on a lot of things: rider weight, gearing, tire profile size..even when i raced i swear wearing a different style helmet coming out of turn#9 at willow springs into the wind i could feel the pressure building up and especially if you don't tuck down all the way...so if you weigh 200lbs, have a nice wheelie sprocket on the back with a real wide low profile cool looking race slick i'm sure you'll lose 10mph easy. so taking the avg. probably about 154mph. and then don't forget about speedo error of usually 3% at the high end, so this all works out to @ 150mph true speed. Not bad for a 12 year old bike!

I have 2001 kawasaki ninja ex250r. when I purchase the bike it had 47,000 miles now it has 57,000 miles...how often do I change the oil & oil filter?

Twice a year or every 4000 miles.

Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell. If in a hot area like Texas or New Mexico go with 20w50.
