#125 main jet #35 pilot half turn only on a/f. Screw is on bottom of carb and is sometimes covered with welch plug and needs to be carefully drilled to get access to screw. CAREFULLY. All the best.

When cord pulled, engine is locked up. Remove spark plug and pull cord, engine rotates, correct plug fitted with correct gap.

Disassemble the exhaust(muffler) and look at the side of the piston for grooves it could be that the engine has may be to much rpm and also have had too poor lubrication because of the L & H adjustment on the carburator is maybe not setting right by dealer or factory or the trottle was handled too long time a few periods on max thats also a problem with overheat but most times the engines are too skimpy set by factory a special Walbro adjusting tool special screwdriver is sometimes neccesary or there is a fixed adjust setting that can be also there on the carburator and by much to long and to High speed its then the piston became grooved and the cilinder inside ? a gilardoni chrome layer inside the cilinder if thats also damaged then its maybe to expensive for repair , but most times this kind of engines are set to low emissions but the The chance that the motor prematurely wears out is large. How to tune the carburator on a 87 chevy caprice brougham?

An 87 Caprice shouldn't have a carb from the factory. As far as I know it should have a throttle body injection system. But if it does have a carb the idle screws are sealed with caps that have to be removed before they can be adjusted. They were preset at the factory and the carb would have to come off and be rebuilt. The best thing to do would be to find a good shop that can do it or buy one rebuilt at the autoparts store. Then you only have to set the curb idle, which is a spring loaded screw the bumps against the throttle linkage. Hope this helps.

Idle speed problems

Hi Walker14,

You have to sync thecarbs and also you will have to reset the air-fuel mixture screws.
One of the carburators should be factory adjusted, I dont wn a kawasaki but I own a YAMAHA SECA XJ750R and thro it I am sharing my experince.
Once you have located the factory preadjusted carburator you can thn set the others to its specs. I use the feeler gauge to do for my bikes carburators and it works fine.
With regards to the mixture screw..... get the all in tightened but slowly aas to not damage the pin end of it!.
Start the bike and get it to normal running temp and thn set the screws 2 and half turns out...you may need to set your idling speed before you begin this setting of the mixture screws, you prolly will hveto go higher on revs or vicecersa ....onc eyou are at the mixture screws and adjusting them , you will surely note the differenc ein sound of he bike an its idling ..
Hope this will help.

New carburator doesn't passed fuel

Are you sure that that the replacement is the correct one. Also, why did you have to replace the carburetor . Did you verify that the carburetor was the problem? Did the weedeater run by priming? Did you check the pump and lines? If these methods were tried and did not reveal the problem, then I suggest that you get professional help.
