If you have a leak in a vacuum line, instead of repairing the line, simply replace the line. This should solve your leaky vacuum line problem. If you still need help, contact me at FixYa and I will be glad to help or refer you to someone who can.

2000 ford excursion cruise control will not work it turns on but will not engage. What can I do to fix.

check vacuum lines also i believe this vehicle has an electric vacuum pump on the passenger side fender [ in engine compartment] you should see a black ball/canister with lines that go to the pump . if not will still have a canister and lines that run to the intake manifold , or could just be as simple as a fuse

Obd code system to lean bank 1&2

Lean on Bank 2 means one side of the engine is getting less fuel or too much air. I also own a 4.0L and I work on these models for this code consistantly. Usually if you have a vacuum leak at the pcv valve hose behind the throttle body you will get a lean Bank 1 and 2.
My recommendation in these cases would be to change the PCV valve (helps with your gas milage) and the fuel filter; other than that you will have to be sure the fuel pressure is correct and there is no vacuum leaks on the driver side of the engine. I am 90 percent sure the fuel filter, pcv valve and clearing the codes will correct this issue.

ISSUE: This article is intended to aid in diagnosing DTC's P0171, P0174, P1130, P1131, P1150, P1151, P2195, or P2197 (system lean or lack of HEGO switches) when a vacuum leak is present. HEGO sensors, MAF sensors, and PCM replacements are not an effective repair when a vacuum leak is causing the above DTC's.

ACTION: Perform the following inspections/repairs when the above codes are found in memory. Procedure provides instructions on how to make comparisons of the total fuel corrections (using scan tool or equivalent) at idle and high RPM's to help determine if a vacuum leak is the root cause of the DTC's.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:
NOTE FREEZE FRAME AND ADAPTIVE FUEL VALUES (ASSOCIATED WITH "LONGFT" PID) WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE IF A KAM OR OBDII RESET WAS RECENTLY PERFORMED.

NOTE FREEZE FRAME DATA WILL INDICATE THE ENGINE AND AMBIENT CONDITIONS WHEN THE DTC WAS SET. THESE ARE IMPORTANT BECAUSE THE VACUUM LEAKS MAY OCCUR ONLY WITHIN SPECIFIC TEMPERATURE RANGES AND MUST BE DUPLICATED TO DETECT THE LEAK.

NOTE FUEL TRIMS AT IDLE ARE PARTICULARLY SENSITIVE TO VACUUM LEAKS SINCE THE UN-METERED AIR LEAKAGE FLOW IS A HIGHER PERCENTAGE OF TOTAL AIRFLOW AT IDLE THAN AT PART THROTTLE. THE BAROMETRIC PRESSURE (BP) PID IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO VIEW WHEN DIAGNOSING A VACUUM LEAK. BP IS AN INFERRED PID CALCULATED DURING HIGHER ENGINE LOADS.

My 2002 excursion will not come out of 4x4 high, the motor that actuates it is good.

The first things to check are the vacuum hoses going to the front knuckles, they are known to break and leak. You could have a broken hose, a bad vacuum solenoid, or something else causing a big vacuum leak when you engage the ESOF.

It's usually not a "hub going out". Check for broken vacuum lines from the vacuum solenoid on the passenger-side inner fender, going to a "T", and down to the front hubs. If you have one, use a hand-vacuum-pump to pull vacuum on the line going from the vacuum solenoid to the front hubs. If it holds vacuum, the vacuum solenoid needs to be replaced.

What is causing a P1131 code on 2000 ford excursion?

P1131----- H2Os-11 running lean.
Here are some possible causes:
Dirty or malfunctioning mass air flow sensor ( mounted in the air intake hose that goes from the air filter to the throttle plate).
Vacuum hose leaking
Intake manifold gasket leaking air
Low fuel pressure
Dirty fuel injectors
This is where testing has to be done to pin point the cause without having to replace things you don't need to.

My 2000 ford excursion 5.4 v8 gas has a problem at idle every time i come to a stop the idle remains at 1300 rpm for about 2mins then slowly returns to 7000 rpm also has slight miss on accell

Ethanol gas syndrome/ buy a can of SEAFOAM(parts store). change out the fuel filter. add SEAFOAM to full tank of PREMIUM gas. let it idle(even if you have to make it by acceleration in park)/ drive 10 miles, replace fuel filter again at 500 miles. add can of SEAFOAM every 3-5000 miles, and it will clean fuel, emission, and engine valves.<p>
ethanol produces a goop(like choc milk) and creates water in the system/ It causes carbon build up and even affects injectors. If you will try this, it will help prevent costly repairs/ cost 8-9 dollars for the SF. whole lot cheaper than an engine job. good luck.

Where is the vacuum hose located on my 2000 ford excursion Limited? It is the 7/3 diesel engine. I need to find it so my husband can replace it. It has a leak.

the main vacuum hose is at the main intake frame at the top of the engin

but the vacuum lines for the vacuum systeme are more than one which one you main.
any way use this methode to check for leaking hoses.
A small piece of vacuum hose (1/4-inch inside diameter) can be used as a stethoscope to detect vacuum leaks. Hold one end of the hose to your ear and probe around vacuum hoses and fittings, listening for the
"hissin'g" sound characteristic of a vacuum leak.

(It's quite common for vacuum hoses, especially those in the emissions system, tobe color coded or identified by colored stripes molded into them. Various systems require hoses with different wall thickness, collapse resistance and temperature resistance.

When replacing hoses, be sure the new ones are made of
the same material.

Often the only effective way to check a hose is to remove it completely from the vehicle.

If more than one hose is removed, be sure to label the hoses
and fittings to ensure correct installation.

When checking vacuum hoses, be sure to include any plastic
T-fittings in the check. Inspect the fittings for cracks and
thehose where it fits over each fitting for distortion, which
could cause leakage.
. Warning: When probing with the vacuu hose stethoscope, be careful not to
come into contact with moving engine components such as drivebelts, the cooling fan, etc.
