Try removing the hitch first if it's a factory hitch. There should be three nuts on either side.

Check tor two 8mm screws inside the rear wheel well bolting the bumper to the quarter panel where they meet on the side. There might be a clip under each tail light. Then remove the plastic clips and slide it straight back.

How much does it cost to replace a gas pump

Fuel pumps are mounted inside the fuel tank. If you have a tow hitch, it will have to be removed. I believe the rear bumper has to come off as well. Lots of little things need to be done. A good shop should be able to do in in a few hours.

How to replace the electric fan on 2000 jeep grand cherokee

You must remove the entire front bumper and you will want to remove the radiator as well. There really isn't enough room there.

Remove headlights.
To remove the front bumper, there are plastic clips around wheel well and under the front bumper. Then there are a couple of bolts under the hood and two bolts on the side (look from wheel well up). The whole thing comes off as one piece.

I was able to move (twist) the A/C condensor out of the way and not drain it.

Removed gas tank guard now won't start

Overtime, Jeep Grand Cherokee fuel tanks develop rust and accumulate sediment. This is especially true if the tank sits empty for a period of time. Rust and sediment can break loose and cause clogged filters. When the filter is clogged, the engine does not receive the amount of fuel required to operate. The fuel tank can be cleaned out; however, replacing the tank is easier.
  • 1 Apply the parking brake.

  • 2 Remove the gas cap.
  • 3 Remove the fuel pump relay from the power distribution center under the hood. Look at the underside of the power distribution cover, and locate the fuel pump relay.

  • 4 Attempt to start the engine, cranking the engine for several seconds.
  • 5 Turn the ignition to "Off." Install the fuel pump relay.
  • 6 Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
  • 7 Lift the fuel tank into position, using the jack.

8 Attach the fuel filler hose and vapor return hose to the fuel tank.Tighten the clamps with a Phillips screwdriver.

  • 9 Pivot the fuel tank retaining straps into position. Tighten the fuel tank retaining strap nuts with a socket and ratchet. Lower the jack.

  • 10 Connect the fuel pump electrical connector, the fuel filter line and the fuel return line. Push the fuel line retainer into the chassis.
  • 11 Raise the heat shield. Install the mounting bolts. Tighten the mounting bolts with a socket and ratchet.
  • 12 Install the tow hooks or trailer hitch, if equipped.
  • 13 Lift the skid plate into position with the jack. Tighten the skid plate mounting bolts with a socket and ratchet.
  • 14 Attach the electrical service connector to the bumper with a socket and ratchet.
  • 15 Raise the jack and remove the jack stands. Slowly, lower the vehicle.
  • 16 Pour the fuel into the gas tank. Connect the negative battery cable.
  • Buy Custom car Parts.

How do i install a type lll trailer hitch considering the plastic pan that is part of the rear bumper?

suggest you try looking at u-haul for a drop hitch that will solve your rear bumper issue.they also do installation world wide if needed and they are the top experts in the hitch industry.i recommend them all the time.i can't say enough about how great those guys are about hitch problem solving.they sell hitches all over the world as well as rent moving trucks.they can still sell you the hitch that you need without installing it themselves, but unless you're a pro. i suggest that you have it done professionally. your life is at risk greatly when towing with a type3 hitch. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

Have the Jeep lifted in the air with all four wheels off the ground. Have the fuel tank emptied using a pump if possible. Place a supportive platform under the tank with a floor jack under the platform. Remove the tank straps holding the tank in.
Lower the tank a few inches so the electrical connectors & fuel lines can be disconnected
Lower the tank and remove from under the Jeep.

Unscrew the retainer at the top of the tank
Remove the sending unit with the pump on it
    Reverse to reinstall

    99 Plymouth Voyager Rear Bumper

If you look up from under you should see some push clips. if your removing entire bumper with rebar & all, it's probably about 4 nuts holding it to bumper shocks, but be sure to look near ends at fenders for push clips , and or screws, and across mid section. watch it, it's pretty heavy with the rebar attached so make sure you have everything ready & remove nuts last, with some help to hold it up.
