While in Neutral, push the clutch pedal in and see if the noise changes. If so, you need a new clutch kit because your release bearing is failing. Also called the "throw out bearing".

Will a dodge manuel transmission from a diesel fit my 4.7 dodge my truck is currently an automatic and want to switch to a manuel none of the v8s have manuel transmissions can it be done?

Don 't know for sure about the diesel's transmission fitting in the 4.7, but you as good as said it can't be done since Dodge doesn't put them in the V8's. The reason I say this is that once you changed the transmission, assuming it were PHYSICALLY possible, there would be no way to reprogram the computer to accept it since Dodge doesn't have the option available and thus would not have a program written for that configuration. These days you just can't reconfigure drivetrains like in the olden days since engines and transmissions are computer controlled. Remove the original and not update the computer and the computer will all but shut things down when it doesn't see the right signals and responses.

A/T transmission light comes on after 4 miles or so then you have to shift manually to get going...trying to smog it and it passes everything but the one nocks test? Is it the speed sensor? Or maybe a...

Your transmission is going into safe mode, which means that there is a faulty selonid, or connection in it. I would take it to a trusted transmission shop so they can correctly diagnose it. If you continue to drive it in safe mode, you will burn the transmission up. It is worth having a technician look at it. You may be looking at a PCM-powerterain control module issue as well.
