Vw polo maintains engine revs when foot is off the accelerator.

I have a 2007 vw polo 1.2 65bhp. It has 32000km covered only. Between 2500 and 3000 rpm the engine continues reving for 5 to 6 sec or longer at these revs when I drop the clutch to change gear even though my foot is off the accelerator. I have to blip the accelerator for the revs to drop to normal tick over. The revs are slow to drop back to idle and the tick over is uneven. Thanks.

You need to check the cable the runs from the gas pedal to the engine, it might be rusty and need some drops of penetrating oil at the point it meets with the engine accelerator valve.

Carb overflowing on 1990 vw polo

Pull the carburetor off and rebuilt it, the float is stick or the fuel inlet valve is defective. The carb kits come with full rebuilding instructions, but if you have never done a carby overhaul it is best left to a professional.

Engine revs on its own! vw polo

There are many number of reasons for this problem...but a VERY common one is a faulty thermo sensor which controls air / fuel ratio.
