Question about 1998 Honda CBR 250 RR
Hi, my honda 650 has been stood over winter in my garage. when i went to start it it would not start. There is a clicking sound when I try to turn over the engine, do you think that this is probably the solinoid? I have had the battery on charge a couple of times over the winter, charging it on the bike, but do you think that this may be the problem? Do you think that the battery is probably finnished & I may need a new one?
Three things cause your problem:
1. Dirty terminals
2. Battery flat or not holding charge (Cactus)
3. Starter motor has had it and all it can do is click the solenoid in and out.
Solution: Take it to an auto-electrician and he will diagnose your problem in a few seconds and rarely charges for this service. OR, you could attempt to jump start it from another bike, if it is the battery, it will turn over.
