Question about 1998 Yamaha XJR 1200 SP
I own a yamaha xjr 1200 sp 1998, brake light not working when using footbrake, bulbs ok ,as it seems to be one whole component must i renew the whole brake master cylinder, thanks for any advice given.
The rear brake stoplight switch will have un-adjusted itself. Find the stoplight switch which is near the rear brake fluid reservoir just aft of the right hand side panel. The black plastic adjustment nut is on top of the switch body. Turn the nut clockwise until the brake light comes on when the footbrake pedal is depressed.

No. the brake master cylinder is for the brake calipers on the wheels. if your brake light is not working and the bulbs are ok. check the fuse box under the seat. or the connectors to the brake light assembly.
