Disassemble the carb and clean it. Soak the parts in denatured alcohol for 30 minutes. Home Depot and any hardware store has it. Now use spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store to finish the cleaning. Be sure to spray into all the little holes (fuel circuits) and into the throttle and air screw holes as well. Put both the throttle and air screws back where they came from and screw them in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each of them outward one and one half turns. This is the factory setting. Also clean the air filter and install a new spark plug ( NGK DR8ES-L ). Check the rubber O-rings on the intake manifold and replace them if hard, cracked, cut or abraded. You can order the parts from www.babbittsonline.com/parts/viewbybrand/parts.aspx This site will show an exploded view of the entire motorcycle. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

1984 CT110 won't idle consistently

On most bikes, opening the pilot needle screw actually leans the mixture , as it is an air screw, not a fuel screw. I'm not for sure that this is the case in your bike, but if you can find out exactly what carb it has, I can tell you. Also, a freshly rebuilt engine is going to idle erraticaly until the rings are seated and broken in. Be sure to check your carb boots and vaccum lines for cracks and leaks, as a vaccum leak can cause a lean condition.

I have a 1981 Honda CT110 Trail 2 wheel motorcycle. I have been working on it and everything seems to be working normal except the idle. It will idle normal for a time and the suddenly rev real high. I...

The problem is an air leak leaning the fuel mix. The idle speed starts going up a ramp until it is wide open. The valves no longer seating well is a possible cause as is carb manifold gaskets, rings and a cylinder head not torqued down tight.
