This sounds like your starter motor is stuck, this is not really my field, but maybe try to remove starter to see what the mesh gear looks like, maybe it is worn to much

Turn key on turn kill switch to on position i hear fuel pump pull clutch in then hit starter button only a whirring sound not clicking and wont start has a new battery Suzuki boulevard c109rt

Hi, Kurt the starter drive/Bendix is a mechanical gear driven component that engages the clutch pack ring gear to turn over the engine. It has an internal mechanism that allows the gear to turn in one direction and once the engine starts allows the drive gear to free spin. If gear free spins in both directions then the drive gear has failed it is not serviceable and needs to be replaced. 2001 Ducati 750ss - Bike suddenly won't start, battery is good, and I can run with my bike and drop it into 1st gear to start it, but when I click the starter button, it just clicks...starter or "

Check to make sure you are getting 12v to the starter when you hit the start button. If you are, then yes,...most likely the starter is toast. But if youre not,..then check all fuses and the starter relay.

99 valkyrie will start but I have to push starter button two or three times before it will start.I have tighten everthing up,new battary.

Either you have a defective starter button in the right switch assembly. Take the right switch assembly apart and clean the starter button mechanism. Inspect the button for burning or melting. If damaged replace the right switch assembly. You may have a burnt or corroded contact bar in your starter solenoid. In this case you will have to replace the starter solenoid assembly. Or one last possibility, if you hold the starter button and hear the solenoid click then (while still holding the starter button) gently tap on the starter with a plastic hammer. If this tapping on the starter causes it to start spinning then you need to install a new set of starter brushes into the starter.

Bike won't start, new Harley battery, and starter bike 2006 FLHX Street Glide, all I get is a clicking noise from solenoid under seat

I'm not too familiar with the later model bikes but if I were getting a clicking noise under the seat and the bike was not starting, I'd investigate the source of the noise. It's possible that it is a starter relay that engages the solenoid that is an integral part of the starter. Look at the starter from the right hand side of your bike. You'll see a single small wire that connects to the end of the starter just above the end plate of the solenoid. Disconnect this wire and connect a test light or volt meter to the wire. Turn on your ignition switch and press the start button. You should hear the click under the seat and see voltage at the end of that wire. If not, replace the relay, a plastic cube about an inch in dimension.

Good Luck
Steve
