If you do an online search, you'll find many sites that list recalls for your bike. Most of the recalls listed will be safety oriented but you may find something about your injector.

You can also call the Factory and talk to them. Have your serial number handy when you do. They'll tell you of all recalls on your bike.

Good Luck

Larry, I'm sorry that my suggestion to check with the factory for a recall didn't help. I work for myself in an independent shop and I have to call or check online to see if there are any recalls. Harley does not see fit to send me recall notices. There are just some things that you must refer to either the factory, a dealership, or a service manual to fix. I did check online for a recall on your fuel injector and found none. Then again, maybe only safety oriented recalls are listed online, not drivability recalls. Good Luck!

Have DR650 motorcycle, seems to be fuel starved at higher revs, cutting out, replaced filter, and drained carby no better, any suggestions?

Check the Tank vent, If it's starving or cutting out it may be creating a vacuum on the tank. Open the tank a bit and see if it still starves at higher RPM. If it runs fine, Located the vent tube and lean it out or clean the vent on the gas cap either way. If it's still starving for fuel, then look at the petcock. If it's one of the vacuum diaphragm auto types, the diaphragm is probably bad and will need to be replaced. Dump it and get a manual valve.

Hello GAVIN Change the the thermocouple anyway if you already did'nt.Check the pilot flame itself it should be stronger than a lighter. It can be turned up/down @ the gas valve.Lastly & very rare I have heard of a sticking gas meter @low pressures in standby mode starving the pilot out. Also when the main burners shut down it should be smooth with out any (snap) blowing it out.

I have a 2003 honda 250 2stroke that shut down on me while i had 5 gear pined. i thought it may have been a spark plug but it wasnt the problem and i cant get it to start anymore and doesnt feel like it...

5th gear pinned usually will starve the engine for the fuel mix, meaning not enough oil, meaning you probably melted the piston, or destroyed the rings, and maybe the cylinder also. No two stroke is made to be held wide open foe any lenght of time, and if you are already running a little lean, this is what happens. Tear it down, and look, and mearure the ring gap if averything seems o.k.

Runs for five seconds after being tilted up and put back down.

Trash in the tank fuel line outlet. When you tilt it the trash moves and lets some gas in. Set it down and the trash goes back in the hole and shuts off the gas. No pressure to feed fuel so when you pull choke makes it run rich and then starves for gas again. Dump gas, disconnect the line at the carb. Put a clean tube (drinking straw, plastic tube, whatever will fit so you don't get gas in your mouth) in the gas line and blow air into the tank through the filter clearing the obstruction. Reconnect line then see if it runs longer before it shut off. If it does clean the tank and flush the dirt out.
If that doesn't change anything then it has to be a carb diaphragm leaking and it need a rebuild kit and fuel system flush.

Back fires everytime i shut it down after

When you finish cutting, bring the engine down to idle for about 30 seconds (some say 5 or 10 seconds but I have found a little longer doesn't hurt anything and sure doesn't scare the heck out of you) before you shut it off, If you shut it down wile it is still turning fast, it will continue to feed fuel into the cylinder and out into the hot muffler where the heat ignites the vapor causing the backfire.

Cranks but won't start

Jus the motor shut off? Or did all the gagues, lights, everything seem to shut down? If all the gagues acted up, sounds like the ignition switch, not the lock cylinder, the acutal ignition switch.
